My teaching method is based on the experience and knowledge acquired throughout my musical career extracted from great violin masters, always helping each student in a personalized and independent way from another according to the characteristics of each one. I emphasize technique (scales and studies) "to be able to do an excellent job, you need the right tools." Always mixing it with enjoying music and always playing songs / works that the student likes and from which they can learn. The classes will be aimed at children and adults, elementary school students, professionals, music school students or who want to learn from scratch. The Galamian method will be a base pillar in the technique taught.

Learn to play viola or violin, take up your playing again, or refine your existing skills further! I offer one-to-one lessons in viola and violin playing. I have over 20 years of performing and over 10 years of teaching experience and am currently working as viola and violin teacher at the East Helsinki Music Institute and the Lappeenranta Music School. I have also in-depth knowledge of working as an ensemble coach and improvisation teacher. I teach all ages. Alongside teaching, I’m playing as a freelancer in orchestras in Finland and abroad, frequently as section leader. I have a Master of Music Degree from both the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. My interests in different musical styles are broad, and I’ve been involved in many cross-arts collaborations. I’m a German and British national, currently living in Finland. Whilst German is my mother tongue, I speak English and Finnish fluently. You can choose the length of the class - 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes. Additional material such as marked scores, exercise sheets, personal plans, and access to teaching videos are included in the lessons.

I have taught music lessons at all levels, but I am especially talented at helping beginner or intermediate students to master their skills of holding the instrument in such a way as to play without pain and therefore get a more beautiful sound out of the instrument. I have taught ages 5-adult and at one time had a private lessons studio in the US of 50 students per year. And I have taught hundreds of students through all my work in the schools. With viola performance and teacher certification degrees, I have worked in public and private schools in the US, India, and Sweden for more than 20 years, creating community and empowering people with music. While I was living in the Seattle area, my orchestra programs were recognized as among the top in Washington state. I was invited to judge solo and ensemble competitions in the area and be a guest teacher with other prominent orchestras. I had many students win regional competitions and perform in Washington All-State Orchestra and All-Northwest orchestras. I sing, write and arrange music that has been performed for school events, culture festivals, regional church conference, and the 2013 USA national church conference for Community of Christ. I moved from the US to Sweden in 2015, and live with my Swedish husband and our child. We enjoy sharing our love of jazz and classical music and dancing lindy hop and balboa.

Yolina is a Bulgarian violinist, who started playing the violin at age four and completed her early education at the National School for the Arts in Varna, Bulgaria. Later on, she graduated musical pedagogy specializing in violin performance from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". She has spent many years as a violinist in different orchestras touring Europe and was an associate concertmaster of "Super orchestra girls", a project of the violin virtuoso Vasko Vassilev, the concertmaster of the Royal Opera House "Covent Garden". She has also performed in classical chamber music formations in Germany, Norway, Dubai, and Lebanon. She started teaching the violin a decade ago and has a small private studio in Sofia. Her students have earned prestigious music awards while working with her. With her teaching Yolina aims to create interest and love towards the instrument and music in general, using fun and pleasurable methods in accordance with the age and receptivity of the learners. She also enriches the student's musical culture, who also learn correct staging, sound extraction, and develop a sense of rhythm in the process.
