Daphne is a teacher of both Suzuki and traditional violin, and has been teaching for the past 22 years. She has taught privately in Greece and the UK, at various music conservatories in Athens, the Junior Department of the Royal Academy of Music in London, St Catherine’s British School in Athens, the South Shore Conservatory in Boston, MA, and Ecole FACE in Montreal. She is a founding member of/teaches through Bariolage School of Music in Montreal and also offers lessons via FaceTime. Daphne also enjoys coaching ensembles, and has worked with the South Shore Conservatory Youth Orchestra (SSCYO). In 2012 she coached and directed the inaugural concert of the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra’s Baroque Consortium (ASON) at the Goethe Institute in Athens. Learning a musical instrument can be an equally exciting and daunting journey. Having gone through ups and downs herself throughout her own musical career, she values the need to have a constant love of music and a nurturing, supportive teacher. Daphne’s aim is to create a solid technical foundation in all her students, regardless of their age, and create a challenging yet supportive environment. Being a Suzuki kid herself, she loves having come full circle, and sharing the principles of the Method with both Suzuki and traditional students.

I teach violin playing for all ages from 5 and up. I started at age of 5 and -payed for over 32 years. Masters degree in violin performance, studied with great violinist in Russia, USA and Canada. Performing and teaching for the last 20 years as a main career. Have experience in group and private teaching and certified ontario music teacher and musician union member. I play music in various styles professionally in local festivals and concerts, gigs over 60 times a year. My students are successful in violin exams and performing. I guarantee proper traditional technique that gives freedom in playing, high quality of sound, intonation and rhythm, various bow strokes, double stops and variety of violin repertoire and style. I also teach music theory and incorporate history in my lessons. I am serious about it and expect serious students of all levels in my studio.

We all have rhythm and sound as a core part of our body, from the heartbeat to the sound of breath, and formal training in music is only an expansion of what already exists in every person. The body of a musician requires as much detailed physical analysis and focus as that of an elite athlete; all of my lessons begin with physical warm-ups to support the specific musculature required in the development of each instrument. Joy and play are essential elements of successful learning at any age, and I make certain that students learn without a lot of undue stress and anxiety. Hello! I use different learning methods depending on the profile of each student. In all cases, I transmit a real working method that will be useful for your entire life as a musician! I usually divide the course into 2 parts, with a more technical part (warming up the hand and working on left hand agility, small exercises on the problems you might encounter), and a more musical part with the pieces. If you don't know how to read scores, I can also teach music theory or use an auditory learning method! I also often suggest playing in a duet, because music is above all a sharing :) My teaching experience is varied: I have taught very young beginners (4 years old) and less young, and I also take care of the improvement of more advanced students! I also offer support in addition to courses at conservatories for example. Young Strings is the violin and viola studio of Liam, BMus. Liam offers online private music lessons via Zoom from his studio in the Niagara region of Ontario, Canada that are fun, engaging, and impart a real sense of musical understanding. Beginning students will learn from the Suzuki violin/viola method books, supplemented by more creative songs and arrangements. For intermediate/advanced students, we study more advanced techniques such as shifting, vibrato, and advanced bow strokes. Hello ! My name is Camille, I'm 26 years old and I grew up in France, where I completed my violin training with soloist Marie Cantagrill. I then obtained my Bachelor's degree at the University of Arts in Graz (Austria), and I also studied for a year at the Academy of Music in Krakow with Professor Wojciech Koprowski. Currently, I am continuing my studies in violin pedagogy (IGP – instrumental and vocal pedagogy) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). Thanks to my experience with teachers from various countries, I have acquired a lot of knowledge in pedagogy, study techniques, musicality, etc., which I would love to share with you!
