Hello! My name is Mirjana. I am from Serbia. I am a graduate violinist and master of violing teaching. I have been working as a violin teacher for 25 years in two schools - primary music school and a music high school. I have also been an ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) violin teacher for 15 years. I have a lot of experience with online teaching. I would like to introduce my program. I base my teaching on the principles of the famous Russian school and the knowledge of modern violin teaching methodology. My approach to violin teaching is systematic and detailed. I can help you learn violin from the beginning to advanced level with a lot of patience. If you are a beginner (children or adults) I can teach you the proper violin posture, how to hold the violin and the bow and the placing of the left hand. Already at this stage of teaching I include short pieces of music and song. If you are at an intermediate or advanced level, I can help you with musical expressions or any technical problem. Get prepared for your exams, competitions, concerts or just learn your favourite piece of music or song. You can learn or practice with me. If you want, after our class, I can make a short video that you would use during the independent exercise. In the video I would show what we did in the lesson and what you should pay attention to during practice. This method has proven to be very useful for beginners and younger children.

I am a versatile, enthusiastic and dedicated violin teacher, taking on students of all levels and ages from beginner to highly advanced. Being an internationally performing violinist, with a masters degree from both the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, I have a lot of knowledge and experience that I’ve been sharing with students over the past years and that I’d love to share with more! A big part of my teaching has developed through my own learning journey with the violin. In learning the violin, I value the importance of technique as well as creative, musical development. During a lesson I will therefore touch on technical exercises according to the students needs, improvisation to stimulate creativity and work on musical pieces. We will, during weekly lessons, work towards reaching the student’s goals with high quality results. My approach is tailored to each individual student and above all, encouraging. I have a wide knowledge of the violin repertoire and am happy to work on a student’s piece of choice as well as suggest suitable works for different levels. Additionally, I have experience working towards ABRSM grade exams amongst other assessments. I can fluently teach in English, Dutch and French.

The violin, sometimes known as a fiddle, is a wooden chordophone (string instrument) in the violin family. Most violins have a hollow wooden body. Music is one of the most important things that everyone needs to learn. In my class, I'm going deeply to explore different skills that you need to play this beautiful instrument, such as a correct handgrip, tune, rhythm, music theory, balance and so on. Although I am young, I have a lot of experience as a teacher in Spain, Austria and Switzerland. For me, the main objective when playing an instrument is to feel good physically and mentally and for this, I put a lot of emphasis on body position and the pleasure of making music. I have experience in the world of psychology within musical performance, coaching and mindfulness and I truly believe that this is something decisive in the study of an instrument .
