Experienced teacher of Meditation, Breathing & Somatic Relaxation for Adults - Personalized sessions in Brussels & Walloon BrabantTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I teach meditation, breathwork, and somatic relaxation through a structured and deeply human approach. My sessions are designed for beginner or intermediate adults who wish to reduce stress, improve their sleep, alleviate anxiety, or simply reconnect with a more stable and centered presence in their daily lives. I combine practices primarily from Hatha and Kundalini Yoga, along with more contemplative and somatic approaches, to offer a comprehensive experience: mindfulness meditations, concentration exercises, transcendence techniques, balancing or energizing breathing, body scans, and somatic relaxations. A class always begins with an assessment of the current need: fatigue, mental strain, emotional tension, or a search for clarity. Then, I adapt the techniques accordingly, whether it's to soothe the nervous system, strengthen grounding, develop concentration, or support more refined emotional regulation. The sessions can also take on a more introspective or spiritual dimension when the person feels ready. With over twelve years of experience and 800 hours of certified training, I primarily work with professionals and parents experiencing overload, burnout, insomnia, overwork, or personal transitions. My approach remains accessible, non-dogmatic, and resolutely practical: the goal is to offer a safe, tailored, and truly transformative space, whether individually or in small groups.

Yin Yog, a quiet contemplative practice....Enjoy the power of Restorative YogaTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Yin Yog, a quiet contemplative practice....Enjoy the power of Restorative YogaTranslate this text using Google Translate.

A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues.Connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load. If you gently stretch connective tissue by holding a yin pose for a long time, the body will respond by making them a little longer and stronger – which is exactly what you want. Remember the principle of the exercise is to stress the tissue so the body will respond by strengthening it. BENEFITS OF A REGULAR PRACTICE Increases circulation and improves flexibility Calms and balances the mind and body Reduces stress and anxiety Releases fascia Encourages deeper relaxation Improves joint mobility Brings balance to the organs through meridian stimulation FOUR MAIN PRINCIPLES TO REMEMBER WHEN PRACTICING YIN YOGA Find an appropriate edge: Move slowly and gently into the pose, and look for an appropriate amount of intensity, never stretch so far as to cause pain. Stillness: consciously try to release into the pose, and to remain still, without shifting position. Hold the position: begin by holding for 1-3 minutes gradually progressing to 5 minutes or more. Come out of the pose gently and slowly.

Hello to everyone! I'm Sophie, a yoga teacher who recently graduated from the Yoga Room Academy in Brussels (200 hours including tax). I am starting to teach formally, but my passion for yoga has been with me for many years, and I have been fortunate to share my teaching with friends, family and in groups. Starting my teaching practice, I am very grateful to be able to share these moments and learn with each new student! My classes and teachings cover Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga - I like to incorporate a little something for everyone. Each style brings its own special touch, but for me the main thing is to create a space where you can move, breathe and just be. With me, yoga will be more than physical postures; we will also delve into meditation, breathing and mindfulness. No need for perfect postures or Instagram-worthy flexibility here, or being the yoga studio stereotype. It is important to me that the courses will reflect you, embracing your unique background, your needs and aspirations. Whether you are a seasoned yogi or a total beginner, you are welcomed with open arms, and I will make sure to create an experience tailored to where you are coming from. I emphasize a good relationship with my students, guiding them to connect with their body, rather than doing an exercise class. At the end of each class, I hope that you will have found a moment of well-being, relaxation and relaxation! ------- Hi I'm Sophie, I am a recent graduate yoga teacher from the Yoga Room academy in Brussels, with a 200-hour certification. Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa flow classes (Teacher certified by the Yoga Alliance)Translate this text using Google Translate.

My lessons are flexible and built on over 6 years of experience — and thousands of classes taught. I tune into the needs and rhythms of each student and adapt my sessions accordingly. Over time, I have refined a teaching approach that is both structured and intuitive, based on breath, body awareness, and alignment. My classes are dynamic, precise, and revitalizing. Regular and mindful practice helps strengthen the body, improve mobility, relieve chronic tension (such as lower back or joint pain), and correct posture. Breathing and relaxation techniques are always integrated to regulate the nervous system and cultivate a sense of grounding and openness. I periodically assess your progress so that your practice evolves smoothly and effectively. After a few sessions, you will feel lighter, more centered, and more connected to your body. I have had the privilege of teaching in a variety of settings: • at home and online, • in companies, where I have delivered many weekly classes, • abroad (notably in Lisbon and on a Mediterranean cruise ship), • and at yoga festivals, where I have led classes with over 300 participants. In 2023–2024, I deepened my practice in Mysore, India, under the direct guidance of R. Sharath Jois, a leading figure in Ashtanga Yoga. Since 2023, I am also certified in Sports Massage Therapy (ITEC Level 3, London), which allows me to better understand body mechanics and offer complementary care off the mat. And in 2024, I completed a certified training as a fitness coach, which has profoundly enriched and structured my yoga teaching — with greater postural precision, a more nuanced understanding of the body in motion, and increased attention to each person’s physical progress. Teaching is a vocation for me — I would be delighted to support you on your yoga journey with a consistent, safe, and enriching practice.

I started my yoga journey with Bahar 2-3 months ago with private lessons, and she has been a wonderful teacher so far. She is very attentive, and centers the experience and expectations of the student. Every week or two, we assess how my personal practice is going, and adjust the flow of the classes accordingly. Instead of just telling or demonstrating what to do, she remains in constant dialogue with me in order that I find what resonates with me in terms of movement, pace, and balance. I am very happy with our classes, and would continue for longer!

Just took the First class out of a 10 pack classes . Very very happy and very much looking forward to go ahead. Karen is very prepared and helpful in structuring the work out to please your goals and she is also and adorable .

Very knowledgeable and skilled teacher, easily adapting the workouts to the student's level and capabilities. Overall a very nice person to work with, highly recommended.
