For violin and viola students, I use a combination of the Essential Elements curriculum, the Suzuki curriculum, and I also often compose original music tailored to the learning needs of each student. I want the student’s experience to be fun as well as educational, so in addition to the curriculum exercises, I will also be sure to add in some fun pieces that the student already is familiar with and enjoys. ​I have learned that being immersed in the world of music is vital for being a good teacher. Musicians who only teach and do not “cross-train” by performing on their instruments regularly and continuing learning simply do not have as much to offer to their students. I pursue all of these avenues actively, not only for my own benefit, but also for that of my students. My primary goal as a teacher is to be a motivating and inspiring mentor and guide. As ​the famous​ Chinese proverb says, ​a teacher opens the door, but students must enter by themselves. ​​My highest aspiration is to show my students doors that they never knew existed, and giving them the tools to go through those doors on their own.

I'm a violist and music teacher, and my journey with the viola began by chance. Before I picked up the instrument, I didn't even know it existed. I started relatively late, at fourteen, compared to my peers, and therefore I understand well the challenges that come with starting an instrument later in life. Yet, from the very first moment, the viola felt like my instrument, and it has been my great passion ever since. Although my main subject is viola, I also teach violin based on my methodology training at the ArtEZ Conservatory. My portfolio includes repertoire and teaching materials for violin, allowing me to effectively guide students on both instruments. String instruments are often associated with written classical music and, because of their technical complexity, many players rarely dare to move beyond the safety of the score. But improvisation is not a mysterious talent we are born with. It requires as much discipline as freedom and develops through a specific set of skills that can be understood, practiced, and ultimately transformed into performance. After more than ten years of teaching improvisation to professional string players at conservatory level, I have developed an approach that rethinks fingerboard visualization and the relationship between the ear, the hand, and the instrument, making improvisation more accessible to string players from all backgrounds. In these lessons, I will help you understand the logic of the fingerboard, transpose effortlessly in any key, and visualize the shapes of any chord, expanding its harmonic possibilities for accompaniment. I will also show you how to create effective grooves through chops and percussive techniques, while developing a melodic language that goes beyond scales and patterns. We will explore styles including Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, and World Music. (According to the style, we can also work with loops and effects.) This class is intended for musicians with a solid technical command of their instrument who want to develop their improvisation skills, whether they are taking their first steps in improvised music or already have previous experience. The lessons will be tailored to each student. I will adapt to your learning rhythm while keeping you challenged at the same time. Hello, I'm Ana and I'm a graduated violist, a permanent member of Symphony orchestra "Stanislav Binicki" in Belgrade, Serbia. Before passing the audition in an orchestra in January of 2017, I was a professor of viola and violin in a special boarding school for musically gifted children "Skola za muzicke talente Cuprija", for five years. The school is founded and lead by the "Academy of music arts" in Belgrade. There are three schools in the world of that kind: in London, Moscow, and Serbia. My students got 25 1st and few 2nd awards in the republic and international competitions, and all of them signed in to desired academies in Germany, Canada and Serbia as first on the list and with full scholarships. We still keep in touch :) I was a member of the Royal chamber orchestra St. George for four years and took part in many world tours. I played also in National Radio and Television Orchestra in Serbia, Orchestra of National theater of Serbia, National Symphony orchestra of Montenegro and National Symphony orchestra in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was a member of orchestras which took part in projects "Bridges for the future" in Bern, Switzerland, “Festival Junger Kunstler”, Bayreuth, Germany, “Deutsch-Skandinavischen Jungend-Philharmonie” in Berlin, “Music days international festival” in Russe, Bulgaria, etc. I am currently a Ph.D. student in the 3rd year of studies in Management for culture and media, on the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Belgrade. I tend to explain to students as simple and as effective as possible. My students enjoy classes, love to play and ask many questions :) I insist on good technique and posture because even if it takes a little bit more time in the beginning, it makes future progress easy and fast.

My passion for sharing knowledge was evident throughout my studies.
