I am trained in different styles of Yoga, such as Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, as well as Sound Healing Therapy and Ayurvedic Massage. Through these tools I guide and help my students to create a practice that best serves their own particular needs, whether that be to find more physical balance, mental clarity or emotional healing.
I come from a scientific background, specifically Physics and Mathematics, and Yoga came into my life out of this need to self regulate and further understand the Universe and my place in it. I feel that these two areas complement each other very well. I try to by precise and methodical, allowing the subjectivity of each one's experience to come to the surface, welcoming it and using it to explore our own reality.

Everyone is unique, with a certain life path, a specific set of desires, needs and difficulties and my goal is to help you by meeting you where you are and guiding you to where you want to go, giving you the tools to know yourself better and build a practice that works for you.

Yoga is a very broad tradition and there are multiple ways to achieve the Yoga state. By working together we can find out what works best for you and in a particular phase of your life and expand on that.
Yoga has certainly given me the foundation to relax when I feel overwhelmed, to know my body and mind and thus walk towards healing them of past traumas, and find spiritual connection and light when the world feels a little bit darker.

About Me
My name is João, I am 26 years old. Ever since I was a kid I liked to learn and study. I have always been very curious and love the beauty of the natural world. This lead me to pursue further education in Physics and eventually Maths.
I also have had this love for teaching since I can remember. I love sharing my knowledge and to create or participate in discussions in which we can see from a different perspective and expand on our understanding and existing knowledge.

I focus to communicate in a simple way, yet I am as precise and accurate as possible. I take as many ways to explain needed for a student to understand the contents and I provide support to each student level, depending on the particular needs.

I did a Yoga Teacher Training and I also teach Yoga. I love philosophy and I try to implement some principles from Yoga in a general class (even a more technical Science class), in order to create the best supporting environment for the student to maximize the efficiency and take aways from class, always in a kind and healthy format, where the student feels seen and his/her needs are met accordingly.

I like to play but I also like to be serious and when it is time to work, and more importantly is knowing how to work. Learn to develop study techniques that will improve your studying and ultimately save you time and turn the learning process more enjoyable!
