I approach my teaching through practical engagement to the topic. With specific goals for each class, I can work around my students to ensure each one is met. Not only will I bring to the lessons scheduled exercises customized to the student to ensure their improvement, but also a consideration of the students wishes as it is important to me that the student remains happy and positive about the learning.

About Me

I'm a music student offering to teach piano, singing and music theory!
I have many experiences as both a performer and teacher. Namely, playing Mahler's 8th Symphony in Manchester's Bridgewster Hall and performing as a soloist in Cardiff's Millenium Centre and London's Wigmore Hall. I have also taught singing to groups of all ages at Indigo Academy of Performing Arts and one-to-one instrumental lessons.

I previously studied at Chethams School of Music in Manchester and now study Actor-Musicianship at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in South East London.

I can offer online lessons for brass instruments, piano, and music theory. I have over ten years of experience teaching all ages from 5-50 years old. I consistently get great results from entering students through the exam process and have many kids on scholarships at their schools.
I believe in a positive and fun experience for all students no matter their ability.

Music forms a great soundtrack in this journey called life, and as a passionate musician and a versatile music teacher, my aim is to inspire others to develop their talents and appreciate the joy of music.

Singing Ethos:
My belief is that everyone can learn to sing when taught properly and holistically and can experience the joy of discovering the unique qualities of their individual voice. This is a joy which I share with my students and why I find teaching so rewarding. My experience is predominantly (but not exclusively) with children and I love to watch as their love for their voice grows.

What you can expect:
I believe it is important to teach with an emphasis on technique and vocal health, so from the first few lessons students learn about the body and the way the voice works. I address this through exercises and breathing techniques as well as songs appropriate to age and stage; (usually based around the appropriate ABRSM Grades). I strive to create a fun, nurturing environment where learning and confidence can be optimised.
I currently study with Sophie Grimmer, a highly respected and accomplished vocal teacher based in London who has performed at venues across Europe and London such as ENO. Therefore everything I teach my own students is informed by the world class tuition I am lucky enough to receive, (but of course adjusted so that it is age appropriate). This ensures that the tuition I give is always current and reflects the ever evolving industry standards for vocal tuition.

I am a composer and educator based in South-East London who has recently obtained a PhD in composition from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, having previously studied at Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. My passion for music feeds directly into my passion for teaching, and I hope that I can inspire as many people as possible to deepen their love of music by learning to understand it from the inside out.

I have been teaching music for over 10 years both in schools and as a private tutor, ranging from interactive workshops with primary students to university-level one-to-one composition. I have previously been the resident composition teacher at Eton College (2015-17) and City of London School for Girls (2017-20), as well as delivering workshops at schools around the country in a visiting capacity. I am as comfortable working with students taking their very first steps in theory and composition as I am with those who are more advanced, and can teach across a variety of styles and genres including classical, jazz, rock and musical theatre.

As a tutor, I always seek a student-led approach, adapting content and delivery to individual tutees’ needs. Regarding my previous experience in tutoring, I have given 1000's of hours of guitar tuition both privately and in school settings. These experiences have given me a keen sense of how to motivate students and offer them concise and useful advice. I have worked at many excellent institutions in the past, including Streatham and Clapham Girls' School (one of the top private girls schools in the country), Orpington Music Studio, The Royal Arsenal School of Music and Canada Blanch Music Academy.

I have found over my experiences of being taught and then eventually teaching that the best method for getting the most out of a student is to listen. If the tutor is acutely aware of where their student needs help and where they are already confident, they can tailor classes carefully to make the best use of the time allowed and to get the maximum potential out of them. This philosophy leads to classes being student-oriented, in that the student leads the tuition. The tutor acts as a supportive crutch, first working through problems together, then allowing them to explore it themselves with the tutor to lean back on.

In my first years of training, like many others, I completed grades. Because of this I have a very good knowledge of what it takes to move along this system. However, the grade system should not be seen as the only way to learn an instrument. The same achievement can be gained through simple discussion between student and teacher and the correct prescription of pieces and studies to work on. Private, 1-1 singing lessons offered both online and in-person, for lengths of 30, 45 and 60 minutes as determined by the student.
You will learn the basics of classical singing technique, including advice on breathing and support, avoiding tension and overall sound projection. You will also get language help and tuition to help pronunciation of your music. You will learn how to become a better stage performer and grow in confidence as a singer. I am a professional countertenor, and a graduate of the Royal College of Music (MMus) and St John's College, Cambridge (BA Hons in Italian and French). I was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards at the Wigmore Hall in 2024, and have performed as both soloist and chorister in concert venues all around the world, including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Singapore Esplanade, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall.

My name is Luke and I am a 24 year old, multi-award winning guitarist from Greenwich, London.
I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher and am adept at all varieties of guitar playing, including, classical, acoustic, electric and bass.

Regarding my previous experience in tutoring, I have given 1000's of hours of guitar tuition both privately and in school settings. These experiences have given me a keen sense of how to motivate students and offer them concise and useful advice. I have worked at many excellent institutions in the past, including Streatham and Clapham Girls' School (one of the top private girls schools in the country), Orpington Music Studio, The Royal Arsenal School of Music and Canada Blanch Music Academy.

I have found over my experiences of being taught and then eventually teaching that the best method for getting the most out of a student is to listen. If the tutor is acutely aware of where their student needs help and where they are already confident, they can tailor classes carefully to make the best use of the time allowed and to get the maximum potential out of them. This philosophy leads to classes being student-oriented, in that the student leads the tuition. The tutor acts as a supportive crutch, first working through problems together, then allowing them to explore it themselves with the tutor to lean back on.

In my first years of training, like many others, I completed grades. Because of this I have a very good knowledge of what it takes to move along this system. However, the grade system should not be seen as the only way to learn an instrument. The same achievement can be gained through simple discussion between student and teacher and the correct prescription of pieces and studies to work on. I am more than happy to walk down whatever avenue they wish to explore.

Private, 1-1 singing lessons offered both online and in-person, for lengths of 30, 45 and 60 minutes as determined by the student.
You will learn the basics of classical singing technique, including advice on breathing and support, avoiding tension and overall sound projection. You will also get language help and tuition to help pronunciation of your music. You will learn how to become a better stage performer and grow in confidence as a singer. If you wish, I can also help with tips for improving sight-singing, and with music theory.
I am a professional countertenor, and a graduate of the Royal College of Music (MMus) and St John's College, Cambridge (BA Hons in Italian and French). I was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Awards at the Wigmore Hall in 2024, and have performed as both soloist and chorister in concert venues all around the world, including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Singapore Esplanade, Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall.
I have trained choirs with members ranging from 10 years old to over 70, so am able to teach any age as required and help with any vocal issues you may be having. As a former chorister at the King's Chapel of the Savoy, and the BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year in 2011, I know what it is like to be a young singer, so can help your child grow in confidence to meet their singing goals.

Emilie has trained in many different genres within music. Emilie started off her training at Reynolds Performing Arts. Then went onto study vocals and music at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, where she learnt all about how to use the voice and how to be a safe singer. Along with her training at LIPA focused on performance, music theory and music business.

Currently Emilie is a singer/songwriter and producer. Working in studios with producers and DJ's. Emilie has created an immense platform online and has releases that have been very successful. Emilie also performs internationally and around London itself to small intermite crowds and events with crowds of thousands.

Emilie has been teaching vocals for 6 years specialising is many different genres. Teaching big groups and vocal 1-1s. Emilie loves to focus on feeling confident and comfortable when singing. I am a professional operatic tenor and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and continue to perform regularly throughout the country and internationally. I now have 20 years of performing and teaching experience, and specialise in teaching vocal technique and refining tone quality.

I encourage my students to develop healthy singing habits, while combining this with language coaching, interpretation and performance skills. I also work regularly with singers for audition preparation, industry professionals and also in vocal rehabilitation.

Learning to sing is the same as any other skill, and everyone is capable of singing well. Singing is unique to each person and I always adapt my lessons accordingly.
