With more than 12 years of experience working with adults and children, including those with special needs and learning differences, I have developed a teaching style that is both patient and structured. With over 15 years of experience, I teach singing, guitar, music theory, and music production to students that are eager to learn and broaden their skills. My main goal is to create tailored lesson plans to match the needs and ambitions of every student, as we are all different and most importantly we learn in different ways.

Violin lessons with me are individual and catered to the needs of each student. Beginner violinists will discover the violin through a variety of engaging theory, aural and practical exercises. More experienced violinists will be able to unlock new technique as well as discover new and exciting repertoire.

Best known as one half of sibling duo Cattle & Cane, Joseph is an award-winning songwriter with notable credits for the likes of Lucy Spraggan, Ward Thomas and Alice On The Roof. Joe was also one of the first songwriters to have an official Spotify ‘Written By’ playlist.

Alice On The Roof’s debut album, which Joe co-write, topped the album charts in her native Belgium and helped Joe achieve widespread success across mainland Europe. I always make sure all pupils enjoy their lessons giving a friendly and fun approach to them. Regardless of age and skill level I want my students to be able to enjoy their time practicing and playing. I can prepare students for all grades of the ABRSM or other boards exams and I complement the lessons with music theory and aural skills training when needed. I can also offer music theory lessons that being to complement music education, prepare for the ABRSM music theory exams or just to expand the knowledge in that area.
The approach for in-person and online tuition are quite similar. I effectively teach using both methods with great results in both. When online, I make sure they are of exceptional quality and the pupil gets the same results they would get in person. They are ideal if traveling is a limitation for the student or just want to take them from the comfort of their home using their own instrument.

I'm a jazz student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire going into my 3rd year- with extensive teaching experience ranging from preschool to pension, I have helped people to ace grade exams and pushed guitarists to understand music better. I currently have numerous happy guitar students, most of whom I have taught from their first time with the instrument.

I can teach right from the first stage, and help with grade exams if that's the route you choose to take. If not, I often do a more modern, non-graded path as well. I'm also equipped to help in passing theory grades, and very knowledgeable about music tech, recording, effects and gear!

If you're taking a Practical or Performance Grade 6, 7 or 8, you must pass Grade 5 or above in Music Theory before you book your exam to make sure that you have the understanding you need to interpret and perform music at these higher grades.
