Philosophy, from the ancient Greek φιλοσοφία / philosophía (composed of φιλέω / philéô, "to love", and of σοφία / sophia, "wisdom, knowledge")1, literally meaning "love of knowledge" and commonly "love of wisdom", is an approach that aims to understand the world and life through rational and critical reflection. This reflection is not for all that specific to a man in particular but to every man in his specifically human dimension even if certain thinkers have made it the heart of their activity. It is a search for truth that is guided by a questioning of the world, knowledge and human existence2. It has existed since antiquity in the West and the East, through the figure of the philosopher, not only as a rational activity but also as a way of life. The history of philosophy allows us to understand its evolution.
