Hello! Alright, I'll break it down into parts. If you look for a more "narrowed description" just scroll down to where I made a list :) My name is Francisco, and I'm a guitar player from Argentina, currently living in Berlin. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and sharing the energy to grow musically with my students. I have taught music for 7 years in schools and privately at home. With private lessons, my aim is to adjust to the student's likes and abilities. I am attentive to the needs and the reasons why someone is wanting to play and learn music. And I try to encourage the curiosity and spirit of making music and not follow what is "considered" that you should learn. What to expect from the first lesson with me? To get to know each other. That way I see what you like and what you don't, what you already play, and your learning pace. Probably I can share with you something new already, and from there, we will build a "program" according to what you want your rhythm and time availability. I value singularity and I like to get to know who I teach, so that way I can help them better. It can be first chords and ways of learning new songs, improvisational tools, or pure harmony and theory stuff. Because everyone is different, for example, if you like Rock I will go in that direction and teach you the elements that make Rock sound like it does and I won't teach you Jazz Harmony, if you like Classical music we will go over the abilities that you have to have to execute this kind of music, the same goes for the styles that I play. My skills: I play and have played mainly Fingerstyle Guitar, Jazz, Argentine Tango, Jazz Manouche, Rock, Rockabilly, and Experimental. I have worked a lot playing Bossa Nova at some point. I don't like teaching something that I don't know. So for example, oriental music I couldn't teach. And if we come to a point where I am not helpful anymore, I will say so. What I do like is learning with students, it is often the case that your students teach you new ways of thinking about music and I find that super exciting! I was lucky to travel a bit of the world playing music with different projects and musicians that I admire, I always did this playing mainly Jazz music. I have played in bars and clubs and theaters in New York, Boston, Buenos Aires, and in different cities around Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland. I was also part of several orchestras (Jazz, Tango, and Rock) in Argentina and the US. I teach beginner - intermediate - advanced levels of different topics: - how to improve technique (right hand and left hand) - how to improvise (elements of improvisation, vocabulary, phrasing, etc.) - how to visualize the fretboard - how to learn songs by ear, and how to read music (or tab) - how harmony and music theory work - specific genres such as Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Tango, Rock, and Fingerstyle. The lessons can be also in German (basic, so you might need a bit of patience with me!), Spanish (that's my mother tongue), or English. In that way, there is no need if you know how to play an instrument or not. You just have to know how to make sound, for example singing, clapping, or tapping on a bow. Yet, for both music students and professional musicians, a solid understanding of music theory is essential: the concepts of harmony, for example, allow for improved reading of sheet music, enabling students to see multiple notes within a vertical chord as a single entity rather than a collection of notes to be read individually. My classes are held online around the world. I can teach in English, Spanish, Russian, Italian, French, German or Portuguese. I am a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory in Russia where I lived, studied music and arts and worked as a ballet teacher, languages and music teacher. I have professional equipment such as cameras in different positions and degrees since it is essential that the student has different optics of both the piano and my body posture. We start with music theory and practice at the same time choosing pieces of preference for the student. The real objective of the class goes beyond the music per se ... but rather a spiritual-intellectual integration which results in genius through music! Music is the hook to touch the soul. Russian piano education focuses on fewer, more challenging pieces. The music will be learnt from memory and much of the learning is done through teacher demonstration. - Solfeggio First of all, what is solfeggio? Also known as 'solfège', solfeggio (sometimes called sight-singing) is the ability to read and sing music at sight. You may have heard this phrase before: 'Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do'. This is a method used to help musicians sight-sing. The Russian piano teaching method is often complemented by the use of solfeggio, and it is commonplace that when Russian teachers do use it, they use the fixed do, meaning C is always do, regardless of the key. With the British piano teaching method, solfeggio is less commonly used, and when it is, moveable do (the tonic is do) is used. As you can probably decipher, this makes the Russian method of using solfeggio much more challenging. - Attitude Without wanting to cast a generalisation across Russia, their learning method has been known for strictness, discipline and controversy. It leaves many wondering: Is the Russian way of learning the piano more demanding? Frequently, Russian piano teachers I work with joke about the harshness of teachers in their youth. The method is trying to achieve excellence in piano playing, but encouragement and discipline are used to varying degrees. I mix my adventuress, feisty, serious, exotic, disciplined and wild personality and the outcome are my classes!

My lessons are for anyone who wants to delve into electronic music & sound design. As an experienced composer, producer and sound designer I specialize in applying my broad knowledge and experience in the field of music & technology. Most successful electronic musicians combine different skills, such as working with music production software and hardware, playing a keyboard, recording and mixing, but also music theory and composition techniques. Because as an electronic musician you often have to deal with different instruments & other sound sources, my lessons are also very suitable if you want to learn to design your own sounds, not only to make music, but also as sound effects for videos or games, for example. Just like in my own professional practice, I teach the different aspects of electronic music production: - sound design ('sound design'), both analogue and digital - synthesis - composition techniques - software for music production, so-called 'DAWs' such as Ableton Live - hardware, such as modular synthesizers and effect units - production: recording and mixing of audio - performance of electronic music It is also possible to learn more about (Western and non-Western) music theory and the history of (electronic) music. From my background as a sound designer for games & film, much of me can share knowledge and experience in this. In principle, my lessons are always adapted to the individual needs, knowledge and skills of the student. For the youngest, my approach is to introduce them to music and technology in a playful way. For this I use my own collection of musical instruments that I have collected over the years from all over the world, and which I link to technology.
