The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject. Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

I offer a holistic, well-rounded music education for all ages and abilities. The training I provide is tailored towards the students personal learning objectives and goals, some of these include solo performance, improvisation, playing in an ensemble and composition. My approach combines conventional and alternative teaching methods, such as reading music, playing by ear, solfeggio, the suzuki method and mindfulness. The three aspects I prioritize in my lessons are imagination, experimentation and creativity. My method focuses on understanding and expanding the students' musical capacities by means of an integrative approach that includes physical training, technique and comprehension.

Hello! My name is Mick. I am an electronic musician, living in Rhenen, but active in Utrecht and Amsterdam. I have made music for various theater performances and my installations have also been shown in various places in the Netherlands. In this series of lessons we will cover various parts of electronic music, but the teaching material also depends very much on the interests and ambitions of the student. The lessons I teach are completely focused on the desire of the student. If a student is very interested in the technical aspects of sound design or programming, that will be the focus. If a student is interested in producing numbers in a program like Logic, then we will focus on this. The first lesson will therefore mainly be an introduction, in which I show and discuss different techniques with the student, after which I will compile the lesson program based on the ambition and interest. Everyone is welcome to try a lesson, young and old, whether you have experience or not.
