I completed my undergraduate studies in conducting at Seoul National University in Korea, where I studied under Professor Emeritus Hun-Joung Lim. He is highly regarded as the only conductor in Korea who has performed the complete symphonies of Mahler and Bruckner, as well as many challenging and lesser-known repertoires. Hello, My name is Joris, I'm a saxophonist and conductor. As a saxophonist I obtained a Master degree with great distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, won the second prize at the national Lion's European Music Competition and already played as a soloist with orchestras like the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides. I'm currently following a Master degree in Music Theory and Conducting at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I started conducting when I was 18 and highlights of my career thus far include a selection as one of only 24 candidates for the conducting contest at the World Music Contest Kerkrade last summer. Furthermore I have had the opportunity to work with professional orchestra's like MAV Symphony in Budapest, the North Czech Philharmonic, the President's Own United States Marine Band, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra amongst others.
