Having graduated from Newcastle University's Folk and Traditional music degree with a first class honours, I specialise in Irish traditional flute and tin whistle playing, equipped with rich knowledge, understanding and repertoire from traditions of the British Isles, Scandinavia and Brittany. I teach students of all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners, who will be taught basic music theory and how to get to grips with their instrument, to advanced players who are looking to nurture their technique and expand their repertory. Tailoring lesson plans to each individual student, I teach techniques and tunes that are carefully sourced and suited to differing levels of ability. Lessons can be taught either by ear or by notation, or a mixture of both to suit the student.
