My teaching method is personal, I adapt to the needs of the student or group of students. Motivation and the pleasure of learning is the most important aspect for me. I also use the RCM system as well as certain approaches from Suzuki, Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique to have fluidity of movement with the cello and a comfortable, tension-free posture. My typical course would go like this: First meeting: Familiarization with the instrument, the basics, what is a chord, tuning the guitar, etc. Then: At each lesson a little theory, always applied, and obviously practice, learn pieces and / or repeat those already learned, to measure the progress of the student. At the end of the course I would give technical advice, things to practice or listen to if the student wants to go further. I don't intend to make myself indispensable, on the contrary I want to give the basics so that you can manage and have fun as quickly as possible. One meeting per week is the best to have rapid progress, but I also adapt to the needs and capacities of the student, the main thing is that the guitar is always a pleasure, and never a chore! I teach cello to students of all ages and levels: from complete beginners to those preparing for conservatory auditions. My goal is to build your technique and musicality together, step by step, so that you're always challenged but never overwhelmed. A typical lesson works on a mix of technique (posture, bow control, tone production), repertoire suited to your level and taste, and — if you want it — music theory and sight-reading. I'll set clear short-term goals with you each lesson and check in regularly on your progress, so you always know what you're working toward and why. I have experience teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD, and I adjust my pacing and explanations so lessons stay clear and comfortable rather than stressful. If you're an absolute beginner, don't worry — I've taught people who've never held a cello before, and we start exactly where you are. A bit about my background: I hold a Master of Music from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where I studied under Ella van Poucke, and I graduated cum laude from the Conservatory and University of Thessaloniki. With my quartet, I won First Prize and the Young Jury Prize at the Storioni Festival Competition 2026, and I've performed at venues including Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.
