Trusted teacher: I teach Biochemistry through a clinically integrated and concept-driven approach designed to build deep molecular understanding while directly linking biochemical principles to human physiology and disease. My instruction emphasizes the translation of biochemical mechanisms into clinical reasoning, enabling learners to interpret laboratory findings, understand pathogenesis, and apply metabolic knowledge in real medical contexts. Core Areas of Instruction My teaching covers foundational and advanced topics, including: Enzymology: Kinetics, inhibition, regulation, and clinical correlations of enzyme dysfunction. Metabolism: Carbohydrate, lipid, amino acid, and nucleotide metabolism with integrated regulatory control. Molecular Biology: DNA replication, transcription, translation, epigenetics, and gene regulation. Bioenergetics: Mitochondrial function, oxidative phosphorylation, and metabolic adaptation. Clinical Biochemistry: Biochemical basis of disease states such as metabolic disorders, endocrine abnormalities, and inherited enzymopathies. Laboratory Interpretation: Mechanistic understanding behind biomarkers, metabolic panels, and diagnostic assays. Teaching Methodology Instruction is structured to ensure mastery rather than memorization. Students are guided to: Analyze biochemical pathways as dynamic, regulated systems rather than isolated reactions. Understand why abnormalities occur at the molecular level in disease. Apply biochemical reasoning to clinical scenarios and problem-solving exercises. Develop long-term conceptual retention through pathway integration and mechanistic mapping. Educational Philosophy Biochemistry is presented not as an abstract basic science, but as the molecular language of medicine. By integrating physiology, genetics, and pathology into biochemical teaching, students gain the ability to connect molecular events to patient-level outcomes, forming a strong scientific foundation for advanced medical study and clinical practice.

Amazing Tutor for Teens - So Glad We Found Younes! I was initially hesitant about online French tutoring for my 14-year-old daughter, especially since she wasn't thrilled about starting classes in the first place. However, from the very first session with Younes, all my worries disappeared. He has an incredible ability to connect with this age group. He immediately broke the ice, made the lessons engaging, and somehow managed to get my daughter genuinely interested and actually looking forward to her next class! We've now had around 8 classes with Younes, and the difference in my daughter's confidence in school is remarkable. She's participating more in her French class and seems much more comfortable speaking and understanding the language. Younes is patient, encouraging, and clearly knows how to make learning French fun and accessible for teenagers. He creates a positive and supportive learning environment, and his passion for the language is contagious.

Alan is a very friendly and knowledgeable teacher. He was always understanding and worked with me on my weak areas to improve my SAT score. Alan helped me score above my target score in both math and English. He provided his own material and took the time to work on assignments that were unclear even outside of our class so as not to prolong the class. I highly recommend Alan as a tutor and am very glad I found him.

The best teacher I have ever had! He really works with every student the way it works best for them, instead of best for him. We've worked on biochem for 3-ish months and I've hated the subject and couldn't bring myself to even open the book and with him I passed my exam with a 85%. Can only recommend!!
