I give my violin lessons to anyone who wants to progress and get into the technique that the violin imposes. Each one brings, in his way of playing, the expression of his sensitivity and his own instrumental musicality. My courses through a rigorous technical logic but very fun to learn, allow you to grow and explore your musical abilities. Former supersolist of an orchestra in Paris and having a higher education (master and 3rd cycle) and holder of a bachelor of education (diploma of teaching of the state music of Germany), I have several years of experience as a violinist in various professional orchestras (in France and abroad) as well as a profound pedagogic practice practiced in France. Passionate about teaching, I would like to pass on my know-how to you, whatever your level. I also intervene as support for the preparation for contests, auditions and concerts. I offer individual violin lessons for beginners, advanced players and music students. My particular focus is on Baroque music and historically informed performance practice. For the past three years, I have been intensively studying the Baroque violin and the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. In my teaching, I convey not only technical fundamentals but also stylistic understanding, phrasing, articulation, and the characteristic sound of Baroque music. In addition, I naturally also teach the classical violin repertoire. Lessons cover playing technique, bowing, intonation, vibrato, scales, musical expression, and efficient practice. I'm happy to support you with entrance exams, competitions, orchestra auditions, or when learning new pieces. Each lesson is individually tailored to your goals and skill level. I am studying violin at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw).

I have worked with students from various schools, including local Hong Kong schools, Hong Kong International School, Kowloon Junior International School, and the French International School etc. I am adaptable and capable of teaching students with different personalities, whether they are highly energetic or more reserved. My primary goal is to instill a passion for music in the next generation, helping students not only grow as musicians but also as confident performers. I have guided many students to success in ABRSM exams, from Grade 1 to Grade 8, including the latest online exam format. My students consistently achieve excellent results, and feedback from past clients has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing how music has boosted their confidence and performance skills. I tailor my lessons using a variety of books based on each student’s level and needs. These courses are primarily aimed at beginners or false beginners wishing to learn the violin on a solid foundation, in a progressive and motivating way. Trained in classical and chamber music by a conservatory professor, I have developed an approach to the violin that is both rigorous and accessible, always keeping the pleasure of playing as the objective. We work on the essential fundamentals: posture, bow hold, intonation, tone, and basic musicality. Emphasis is placed on a clear progression adapted to each student. Each lesson is personalized according to your pace and objectives, whether it's to discover the instrument, consolidate the basics or evolve towards a more expressive style of playing. Courses are available in French or English.

This violin course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, and aims to develop the essential technical and musical skills for playing smoothly and expressively. The program includes learning the fundamentals of violin playing, such as correct posture, grip, and producing a clear tone. You'll work on scales and arpeggios to develop your dexterity, as well as bowing techniques to master different stroke patterns. Sheet music reading, musical analysis, and music theory practice are integrated into the course to strengthen your theoretical knowledge and music-reading skills. Alongside this, you'll explore a diverse repertoire, ranging from classical works to more contemporary pieces, and will have the opportunity to work in a group to improve your listening and coordination with other musicians. The course also includes personalized guidance to structure your practice and prepare you for performances, with an emphasis on musical expression and managing stage fright. My approach aims to make each student independent and to encourage their musical development in a caring and motivating environment.

Tijdens de lessen staat een ontspannen en natuurlijke houding centraal, want dat is de basis voor een mooie en vrije klank. Ik besteed veel aandacht aan een verfijnde streektechniek, een zuivere intonatie en het aanleren van een soepel, expressief vibrato. Door mijn muzikale opvoeding ben ik bovendien goed thuis in de Kodály-methode, waardoor het verbinden van zang met instrumentale techniek een heel natuurlijk onderdeel is van mijn manier van lesgeven. Wanneer nodig begeleid ik mijn leerlingen ook op de piano, wat het samen muziek maken extra toegankelijk en inspirerend maakt. Mijn doel is om in een geduldige en persoonlijke sfeer jouw muzikaliteit tot bloei te laten komen – of je nu net begint of je techniek verder wilt verdiepen.
