As one of history's oldest forms of communication and musical expression, Drumming is an incredibly powerful and fulfilling skill to learn! Under the guidance of Uptown Drumming's Rob, students ranging from beginner to advanced receive a highly unique musical instruction, tailored to their specific goals and abilities. Uptown Drumming's students are furnished with the fundamentals of drumming, from discussions about the role of drummers and drumming at different points in history and in different places around the world, to general music theory and theory as it relates to the drum kit, to the skills and techniques needed to master this powerful and dynamic instrument. Theory and practical assignments will challenge the student to put what they learn into practice as they harness their own creative mind to create, notate, and perform original pieces of their own. New skills are then enhanced as the student’s musical and technical skills are pushed to the next level through a specially designed, rigorous curriculum. Students are always pushed to explore ways in which they can personalize their instrument and their playing technique; how they can utilize their skills in the world of Audio Production; and what they need to know and what they can expect from a career in the Music Industry.

The classical/contemporary pan flute has developed only in the last 20 years which concluded with composers writing for this instrument and educators to develop a teaching program. The instrument has been very famous in world music for centuries, therefore the oral transmission played and still plays an important role in teaching and developing the techniques of the instrument. I've been teaching the pan flute for 4 years and playing the instrument for more than 14 years with experience in different styles: folk, classic and contemporary My style is based on demonstration, involving the student in the process of understanding the techniques of the instrument as well as the reasons behind certain musical styles in order to help them achieve confidence and a better interpretation. I use most of the time the brainstorming strategy to help students generate questions and ideas and get creative like in improvising, writing their own melodies, etc. In matters of musical interpretation, I encourage experimenting with phrases, musical colors, rhythms, musical direction, and music analysis.

Hi, I am here to help people with music and sound composition. To enlarge your ways of thinking and make your work faster and more effective. The techniques and theory I can gladly teach you too, of course. Looking forward to meeting you! I have a Master's Degree from Multimedia Composition at the Janáček Acadamy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. I have made music for several ensembles, theatre performances, dance performances, short time movies, sound effects/field recordings for videogames, having my alternative music production at the same time. I used to work in several theatres in live sound-engineering and for more than one year I was leading one of the best recording studios of our country as a sound and recording director (esp. jazz, classical music, experimental music).

I currently offer teaching and mentoring in the following areas: - Music/Audio Production - Guitar Performance - Music Theory My methods are generally adapted to each individual’s needs and objectives, however, they do not include classical music training approaches, such as sight reading or formal classical music training. Instead, my approach focuses on developing an intuitive understanding of music, through understanding elements such as intervalic structures, mathematical permutations, analogies derived from other disciplines etc. The ultimate goal of my approach is to allow the individual to form a way of thinking, which will allow she/he to compose, produce or play ANY type of music.
