About Me

Henrique Vaz Romano, born in 1999, in Brazil, began studying piano at the age of 9, and two months later he was selected to the entrance examination of the School of Music of Brasília. At the age of 12, he received his first prize at the Heitor Villa-Lobos Piano Competition in Brasília. In 2012, he is one of the 5 Brazilian pianists selected and awarded at the International Lang Lang and Telefonica competition for young pianists. During the following years, directed by his teacher Roberto Rufino, he also received prizes at the first piano competition Casa da Música in Porto Alegre and, twice in succession, at the Cora Pavan Caparelli Piano Competition. He has also been selected for important festivals in Latin America, such as the XIX Festival Música nas Montanhas, the SESC International Music Festival and the Campos International Festival in Jordão, where he has lessons with renowned pianists such as Cristian Budu, Eduardo Monteiro, Gilberto Tinetti, Guigla Katsarava, Luís de Moura Castro and Pascal Gallet.
