Playing violin is a passionate art, which is a good combination of personality and technique. In my lessons I help the students from all levels to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination. My goal is to help and guide to let the student make constant progress.The lessons are adapted to each student's needs, wishes and expectations.
Furthermore music theory is an indispensable part of playing an instrument. Especially I provide a background with Solfege for beginner students to be efficient on musical language. On the other hand I offer classes such as Music and Culture History, Harmony and Ear Training for students who are willing to improve your knowledge.

About Me

My name is Esengül, I am a music teacher and performer currently based in Amsterdam. I was born and raised in Turkey, and started playing the violin at the age of 10 years old.
The moment I started classical music, I fell in love with it. For me the passion came from the music itself rather than the instrument. I learned to listen and find my voice through the violin. At the age of 12 I got into the full time conservatory in Bursa and then I had a chance to work with Prof.
Tjeerd Top who is one of the concertmasters of Royal Concertgebouw Orkest during the last two years at Conservatory of Amsterdam. I saw first hand that instruction of high quality can bring extraordinary potential out of just about everyone. I have been teaching regularly the past seven years on the field such as violin, piano, harmony, music and culture history, solfege and ear training. Teaching and education have been my passion since the very beginning of my own music education.
Actually, I studied many different methods and for the violin students my preference is to start with the combination of Cohen, M., Violin Method: Pupil's Book 1 Nelson, S., Essential String Method Violin Book 1 and Suzuki Book 1 but as I expressed before, according to students' wishes or expectations we can adjust our path. I can teach fluently in both English and Turkish. I am holding my Bachelor of music in violin performance at Conservatory of Amsterdam with a minor in Music Education. I believe that a good teacher is the one who is open to learning (because learning never stops) and who has an experience in various situations. I am a very experienced teacher with an open mind and I am here to help you or your kid to learn an instrument with the most effective and fun way.
