It is my belief that anyone can sing as the body is built to speak and sing. So if you or your child loves to sing, it is never too late nor too early to learn one's self-expression through singing.

I work with people of all ages from beginners, hobbyists, the curious, and to everyone in between who yearns to explore their singing voices.

Lessons are tailored for each individual depending on their level and goals for singing.

My lessons cover Vocal Function/Technique, Basic Music Theory, and learning and performing a song.

The Vocal Technique I teach is grounded in the principles of Functional Singing and Somatic Voicework TM The LoVetri Method. Vocal technique which covers Posture, Breathing, Body and Vocal Warm-ups, and Vocal Exercises prepares the body to sing freely, effortlessly, and powerfully. It facilitates awareness of mind, body, and breath connection which promotes freedom of expression and brings forth the joy of singing

About Me

Hello, I am Jean and I am a New Year City based singer and vocal teacher. I love singing as well as teaching others how to sing. It is my belief that since the body is designed to speak and sing, basically, everybody can learn to sing. Like any instruments, for singers the body is the instrument, one must learn how to use one's body to sing. I enjoy teaching all ages but particularly children starting from ages 7 and above, as well as adults and seniors that have always wanted to explore their singing voices. Singing is a wonderful way to connect with ourselves, improve our expression, and explore our creativity - in short, it is fun and good for our body and soul. Come sing with me!

I offer two tracks for piano lessons:
Bee-Thovens - where students learn to read music by composing their own songs and Buzzin' Bees, where we dive right into note reading and exploring the classics.

In my Bee-Strings classes, I take the same approaches with my guitar and ukulele students.

My general music classes - The Bee Hive, for pre-k 3, pre-k4, kindergarten, first and second-grade classes, include playing percussion instruments, singing and movement. We even incorporate the keyboard and ukulele.

Individual lessons enables me to tailor and adapt my teaching to every pupil's needs; helping them to learn the repertoire or skills that each individual requires. I cover styles such as classical, contemporary, pop, jazz and film music.

Jane has a BA in Piano Performance from Boston University. She is a top piano teacher in Queens, New York with more than 20 years of experience in classical piano, music theory, and composition.
Her studies began at the Music Institute of Chicago, where she studied piano, music theory, and duo piano from an early age. I teach violin and viola lessons with the aim of improving technique, musicality, and interest in the instrument. Learning a string instrument can be challenging, but I believe it is also one of the most rewarding endeavors you can undertake.

I am a singer, pianist, and general music educator based in Brooklyn, New York, where I work as a teacher at an award-winning music studio.

Having graduated summa cum laude in 2017 with a degree in Music Education: Voice from West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU), I have studied various methods and approaches to illustrating musical concepts including music theory, music history, ear training, and applied lessons in voice and all major instruments.

During this class we will put a special focus on improvisation and expand the thematic of Level 1 & 2. During this course Davide will talk about all the most common vocabulary of bebop improvisation skills: Arpeggios, Scales, Diatonic Approaches, Chromatic Approaches, Double Chromatic, Triple, and the most efficient ways of studying them as a vocalist. The goal of these workshops is to improve our ears, timing, confidence and leadership as singers.

What makes a good song? This is exactly what we are going to find out. Exploring many of same techniques that are dealt with during our Composition Lessons, but in a broader more macro way. These lessons are geared to bring out your inner storyteller. By analyzing the great songs of the past and learning what makes them so effective, students will be able to internalize those tricks and techniques and add them to their own musician's toolbox. These tools will prove to be invaluable not only in crafting and shaping their musical stories, but also in overcoming writer's block.
