My guitar lessons are adapted to each student's level, musical interests, and personal goals. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced players. Depending on what you are interested in, we can work on classical guitar, rock and popular music, technique, chords, reading music, rhythm, improvisation, interpretation, or simply learning to play the music you love. For beginners, I focus on building a comfortable and solid technical foundation while making music from the very first lessons. For more experienced players, we can work in greater depth on sound, technique, musical expression, interpretation, and developing an individual approach to the instrument. I also have a background in composition and electronic music, so lessons can include songwriting, composition, improvisation, recording, or working with music technology for students who are interested in exploring beyond traditional guitar lessons. The lessons are shaped around you – whether you want to learn guitar from scratch, return to the instrument after a break, prepare for a performance, or develop your playing further. Hello all, I am Rotem (26), I am guitarist, composer, and music theorist. I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Artistic Research department at the Kunstuniversität Graz and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) under the supervision of Isabel Mundry and Deniz Peters. I have a master's degree in composition from Zurich University of the Arts, where I studied with Isabel Mundry and Burkhard Kinzler and focused on composition, historical temperaments, and counterpoint. I studied my bachelor’s in jazz guitar performance at the New England Conservatory, where I studied guitar with Joe Morris and composition with Stratis Minakakis (2023). Prior to that, I completed a diploma program at The Center for Jazz Studies in Tel Aviv, in partnership with The New School in New York (2021). I have been performing, touring and teaching around the world: New York, Washington DC, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, and more! I have grown up with education both in jazz and classical practices, and therefore am very versatile and fluent with both worlds which i believe creates a unique and interesting perspective for approaching music. In our lessons, we could focus on anything you'd like to: guitar, music theory, composition, ear training, electronic music, improvisation (jazz and free improvisation), rhythm, and many more.
