My guitar lessons are adapted to each student's level, musical interests, and personal goals. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced players.

Depending on what you are interested in, we can work on classical guitar, rock and popular music, technique, chords, reading music, rhythm, improvisation, interpretation, or simply learning to play the music you love.

For beginners, I focus on building a comfortable and solid technical foundation while making music from the very first lessons. For more experienced players, we can work in greater depth on sound, technique, musical expression, interpretation, and developing an individual approach to the instrument.

I also have a background in composition and electronic music, so lessons can include songwriting, composition, improvisation, recording, or working with music technology for students who are interested in exploring beyond traditional guitar lessons.

The lessons are shaped around you – whether you want to learn guitar from scratch, return to the instrument after a break, prepare for a performance, or develop your playing further.

Lessons are available in English, German, and Hebrew.

About Me
Hallo!

Education
Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK), Vienna
BA in Lute Performance, 2026–present

Musrara School of Art and Society, Jerusalem
Artistic Research Program – Electronic Music and New Media, 2024–2025

Tel Aviv University – Buchmann-Mehta School of Music
BA in Composition and Music Education, 2018–2022
Experience / Qualifications
I have been teaching guitar since 2017 and have experience working with children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced students.

I taught classical guitar at the Israeli Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv (2022–2025) and at the Or Yehuda Conservatory (2023–2024), as well as privately.

My musical background is broad and includes classical music, rock, early music and lute, composition, and electronic music. This allows me to adapt lessons to different musical interests rather than following one fixed approach.

I also have extensive performance experience as a guitarist and lutenist, both as a soloist and in ensembles, as well as experience accompanying students in concerts and performances.

Alongside teaching and performing, I work as a composer and have experience with music technology, recording, and electronic music. I can therefore also work with students who are interested in combining guitar playing with composition, improvisation, recording, or electronics.

Hello there!

Do you wish to learn to play the piano but do not have several hours every day to dedicate to practicing? I can help! With 15 years of teaching experience, I’ve honed my methods to facilitate rapid progress and maximize efficiency. My students achieve in months, what usually takes years when following a conventional music school program. Nonetheless, I am not taking any shortcuts. On the contrary, one of the reasons why my students progress so fast is my insistence on building solid fundamentals. I strive for my students to master the necessary tools for them to then achieve their own personal ambitions.

Having observed the practice routines of professionals and university students worldwide, I've realized that there's often much time to be gained during practice. Realizing everyone's personnality, approach, affinities and tastes are different, I prioritize a personalized approach tailored to your individual learning style. Together, we'll make the most of our sessions, whether you're a beginner diving into music or an intermediate player seeking to enhance your skills. And guess what? You won't need to practice for hours on end to see significant improvement. With regular lessons, even just 15 minutes of practice three times a week can lead to enormous progress. As I often say, the learning process is more akin to a marathon than a sprint.

While efficiency is important, I believe that learning should be fun and inspiring. In my lessons, you can expect a supportive and encouraging environment. I'll be there with you every step of the way, celebrating your achievements and helping you overcome any challenges that arise. Together, we'll create a positive and empowering learning experience.

Ready to embark on your fast and efficient piano learning journey? Contact me to schedule lessons and get ready for a rewarding musical adventure! Looking forward to hearing from you!

I am a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music has been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, BBC and WRAL. I have written and co-written songs that have accumulated tens of millions of streams.

I am represented by Kobalt/AWAL (Lauv, Bruno Major, Tom Misch), Maximal Music Sync (Candi Staton, North Star Media), Music Table South Korea, and Sixtyfour Music London and have co-written with Richard Walters (Declan J Donovan, 3lau, Alison Moyet, Grey's Anatomy, CSI) and breakout Dutch artist Judy Blank.

Alongside releasing my own material, I am also a session pianist, writer and guitar player who has worked for many clients in studios both in Europe and the States, as well as on tours worldwide including major festival slots and tours in the UK, Europe and the States.

----------

I primarily am interested in teaching people to develop their own sense of artistic identity, and am keen to mentor pupils who are already making headway in their own progress as a musician or in the music industry.

I am able to offer key insights into the industry that many other teachers aren't able to, and I am passionate about people who are passionate about music.

I consider my experience incredibly valuable to those serious about making headway in the industry and see my classes to be more of a personal and bespoke teaching service than traditional piano/guitar lessons, and have a slightly higher price point accordingly.

I have also achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) in piano.

I am moving back to Vienna in April, and will be taking on students from mid-April onwards.

----------

I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, and have had pupils of all skill levels and ages. I have taken pupils through traditional grading in the UK (both ABRSM and Rockschool) and also taught people who are only interested in learning an instrument vocationally.

Over these years I have helped pupils develop proficiency and passion in piano, guitar, songwriting, production, as well as offering advice on booking tours, forming bands, and helping develop a sense of musical identity.

----------

My approach to each client is unique, but I primarily focus on encouraging artistic expression and open communication in my sessions.

I value the ability to give others the opportunity to create, and I like to treat my lessons as a safe space for ideas, for singing, for performing, and for chatting about all things musical.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I offer private songwriting mentoring/coaching sessions for students of different ages.

We will go over what the main components of songwriting are, how to approach it, holding songwriting sessions together, and discover how to find inspiration for writing your own songs or making your own music productions. I encourage students to actively present their productions, songs, sketches, ideas and any sparks of inspiration you may have. I personally use Ableton Live for most of my productions. I regularly write and produce music for my solo project Pološywa as well as all kinds of collaborations with other artists and producers in different genres.

My goal as a teacher is to keep and increase the students' love for music as well as to offer necessary and appropriate knowledge/skills to keep the student challenged and of course, enjoy the fun of music!

LEARNING BY HEART

Learn to play/sing favorite songs:
- Depending on your ability, we simplify (or enrich) the accompaniment and improve it in a fluid manner
- I'll show you various "hacks" and shortcuts
- you don't have to do anything "right", you can follow the fun.
- play/practice without pressure, how does that work...? You can make it easier for yourself! How much time you invest stays with you. :-)
- any style possible, as long as it makes sense for you technically
- Singing: easy!

Write your own songs:
- I give you different "glasses", "rails" through which you come up with new ideas, both for the music as well as the lyrics and singing
- "writers block" - from the head back to the heart using simple techniques
- learn to use the hidden treasure trove of ideas in your body (subconscious)!
- and most importantly: have fun with “bad” songs!

generally:
- you will find clear goals for each hour (e.g. record a song or parts of it,...), for the next few weeks and for the next months
- we record as much as possible because it is the best exercise (and the most exciting ;-) and you have something "in your hands" that is satisfying in itself, no matter how "perfect" it is (everything is perfect How clean is up to you ;-).
- I'll help you promote the joy of sharing your music ("I can give something!")
- and above all: learn to feel what really makes you happy.

It's important to me that you feel safe with me and have fun, no matter how things are going. I'm happy if you dare, it can only get better! :-)

Hello! My name is Matei, I am 21 years old, I have been studying guitar for over a decade and I have 5 years of experience in the teaching domain. I am currently studying jazz at the Jam Music Lab conservatory in Vienna. I have studied classical guitar for 5 years, electric guitar for another 5 years, and jazz guitar for 3 years.

I can teach you music theory concepts ranging from fundamentals like chords, intervals, scales, and arpeggios to the more advanced: circle of fifths, modes, tensions, and triads. Regarding the technical aspect of guitar playing, I can create a good practice routine for the improvement of different styles of playing such as alternate picking, fingerpicking, legato, taping, hybrid picking, economy picking, etc.
Although these concepts may sound frightening at first, I can help you understand them more easily.

The lessons are thought to be suitable for beginners who never picked up a guitar before, intermediate players who know some songs and fundamentals but don't know what to do next, and advanced players who want to deepen their skills.

I can also help you build a good foundation for improvising over any tune you like, help you master composition, and teach you music-making and recording programs such as Reaper, to be able to start your solo projects.

I will provide my personal insights regarding what I think you should improve, but I can also just help you learn something specific like a song you want to play.
