About Me

I am an open-minded multi-instrumentalist who has been involved in ensembles from an early age and has performed over 250 concerts with them in a wide variety of styles.
I regularly play in cover and dance music bands and am just starting out with my rock band AKADIA. Outside of my projects, I play pop, funk, soul and jazz, but I'm happy to delve into any genre with you.

Hello! My name is Matei, I am 21 years old, I have been studying guitar for over a decade and I have 5 years of experience in the teaching domain. I am currently studying jazz at the Jam Music Lab conservatory in Vienna. I have studied classical guitar for 5 years, electric guitar for another 5 years, and jazz guitar for 3 years.

I can teach you music theory concepts ranging from fundamentals like chords, intervals, scales, and arpeggios to the more advanced: circle of fifths, modes, tensions, and triads. I am Joan, a professional classical guitarist newly based in Vienna. I am from Barcelona, obtained a First Class Bachelor's degree in Music and a Master's degree in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, and I have now landed in Vienna, where I do a Postgraduate Certificate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) with Prof. Alvaro Pierri. I am also an active performer, with more than 30 concerts a year across Europe, the USA and the UK.

Besides performing, I have been teaching for more than 10 years now. Last year as a Junior Fellow at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, but also privately, in music schools, conservatoires, primary and secondary schools and summer camps. Mainly 1 to 1 but very often ensembles, chamber music or orchestras.
