About Me

Music has always been my passion and also my job and my way of life. That is why I think teaching what I know and helping people to understand better this world is an incredible way to use this knowledge.

Education

Finished Bachelor in classical music with violin as main instrument in Spain 2020, in the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León, with Karolina Michalska as a teacher.
Currently I am studying in the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, with Guido de Neve as a teacher.
Also recieved violin lessons from Santiago de la Riva, Ana Comesaña or Shirly Laub, among others.

Although I have studied classical music I have also been involved in modern music as Jazz, being part of the class of Jazz in the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León from 2016 to 2018.
Currently I am studying folk music and fiddle with María San Miguel (from Atlantic Folk Trio).

Hi! My name is Charlie and I'm currently a member of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Orchestra. Teaching has been the foundation of my musical life for over a decade. My teaching studio has hosted a private studio in Oslo, New York, Connecticut and now Antwerp. I am a Belgian violinist from the Ardennes, in Wallonia. I have participated in numerous masterclasses in Belgium and abroad with teachers such as Emile Lavrenov, Liesbeth Baelus, Sylvia Huang, Bartlomiej Ciaston, Andrzej Grudzien, Caroline Poncelet, Lilia Umnova, and Guido de Nève. Drawing inspiration from various examples and broadening my horizons are among my most important goals.

In 2020, I started in the class of Marek Kowalski at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where I obtained my bachelor's degree three years later. After that, I studied for a year at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf in the class of Solenne Païdassi, before starting my master's at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Alexei Moshkov, with whom I am currently studying.

I frequently participate in orchestral projects and tours, and also enjoy performing as a chamber musician at festivals and concerts of all kinds. I have made recordings with chamber music ensembles and orchestras, including for film music. I have also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist with an orchestra twice.

I have recently started developing my teaching skills, which I find incredibly interesting! I enjoy every meeting with a new student, and it fascinates me to see the musical and personal development of each of them.
