There is also the option to learn theory, solfège. Bio: Yvonne was born in Kavala in 1998. She began her violin studies at the age of seven under the guidance of Z. Zlateva. Semsis. Since 2023, she has been a student at Codarts WMDC (Rotterdam, Netherlands), pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Turkish music-Ottoman violin (teacher: Burak Savas). Pappou, etc.) and has performed on some of the most important music stages in the country. She has composed music for dance performances and short films. Additionally, she is a graduate student at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her first album, titled "Myrra," with T. Kofodimos, was released in December 2023. She has taught classical violin at the Pefki Municipal Conservatory, the Athens Conservatory, the Trofonio Conservatory of Livadeia, and has four years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages. My idea: Each lesson is unique and tailored to the student's needs. We can adjust the lesson according to what each person desires: from classical technique, exercises, and repertoire, to Maqam theory, taqsim, traditional/rebetiko/Ottoman repertoire, and of course, improvisation. My fundamental principle is that technique comes first, but what's important is that musical knowledge is not sterile but enjoyable. I achieve this through a variety of repertoire, a pleasant atmosphere, and especially through group playing, both among ourselves and with other students and musicians.

My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that technical dexterity and agility on the instrument are requisites to finding freedom to express oneself musically. Taking into consideration that many university students are there because they already display a high level of talent, it is the job of the professor to make sure that fundamental elements are intact. The first order in this direction is to establish an ergonomic physical approach to the violin, then to achieve familiarity with the fingerboard and geography of the instrument. The second, is to develop mastery of bow distribution and all matters that deal with weight, placement and speed. The third deals with the left hand and how to shift, vibrate, and build agility in the fingers. The fourth is the musical application of all of these elements within the musical context.

I adopt a patient and interactive approach to teaching, recognizing that each student is unique in their learning style and pace. My lessons are tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring that the learning experience is both enjoyable and effective. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I focus on building a solid foundation while also encouraging creativity and exploration. I bring over 5 years of teaching experience in guitar to the table. My background includes Grade 8 electric guitar - London College Music and Grade 5 theory of music - Trinity College London. Whether you're a beginner looking to start your musical journey or an intermediate player aiming to advance your skills, I can help you reach your potential.
