Music Theory, Improvisation and Composition Lessons - Jazz and Classical - Online or In PersonTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hi! I'm Demetrio, a musician and composer from Italy. From when I was 8 years old, I've been fully immersed in music, starting out with flute, to then switch to drums and to my first conservatory course in classical percussion. Already in the final periods of this study, I began to fall in love with jazz music and with the instrument of the vibraphone, and in September 2022 I moved to the Netherlands to follow my second bachelor course in the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, this time in jazz vibraphone. At the moment I'm in my second Master's year of The Hague's conservatory, on my way to graduation at the end of this academic year. In this class, you'll be able to learn and face many aspects of music, from composing and starting out with the idea of song writing, to diving into music theory, both classical and jazz, and improvisation, as a general topic and in the context of jazz music. All of the topics that I present are offered to give students of any level either a solid base for music theory and improvisation, or to consolidate even more and strenghten your skills on more advanced aspects of music. I'm very passionate about listening, sharing, directing and finding solutions to problems that anyone in a music learning journey can face, starting from myself. I'm also very patient and I provide clear and practical explanations, which I believe is very needed in such a confusing and aerial topic as music can be. See you in class! :)

Jazz Guitar, Improvisation & Composition Lessons with a Professional PerformerTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Jazz Guitar, Improvisation & Composition Lessons with a Professional PerformerTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hi, I’m Mateus – Guitarist, Composer & Teacher I’m a professional jazz guitarist from Portugal with a strong background in both classical and jazz music. Over the years, I’ve performed at some of Portugal’s biggest jazz festivals such as EDP Cool Jazz, Funchal Jazz Festival, and Caldas da Rainha Jazz Festival, and I’ve also had the honor of winning international prizes, including the Jarek Śmietana Jazz Guitar Competition in Poland. Alongside performing, I have a real passion for teaching guitar. I’ve been giving private lessons, workshops, and masterclasses to students of all levels, helping them build solid technique, develop their creativity, and express themselves through music. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to dive deeper into improvisation, jazz harmony, composition, or repertoire, I adapt my lessons to your goals and pace. Currently, I’m based in Basel, Switzerland, where I’m studying for my Master’s degree in jazz performance at Jazzcampus, working with world-class musicians like Larry Grenadier, Jorge Rossy, Kris Davis, and Wolfgang Muthspiel. Beyond music, I enjoy reading, traveling, and exploring new cultures – things that often inspire my playing and teaching. If you’d like to learn guitar in a way that’s fun, personalized, and musically enriching, I’d be happy to help you on your journey! I have been teaching guitar for several years, working with students of all ages and levels – from complete beginners to advanced musicians preparing for auditions and performances. My teaching experience includes private lessons, workshops, and masterclasses, both in Portugal and abroad. My academic background combines a classical foundation with a strong focus on jazz performance and improvisation. I studied classical guitar at the Conservatory of Santa Comba Dão, later graduating from the Coimbra Conservatory of Music in the professional jazz program, and completing a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Guitar at the Lisbon College of Music. As a teacher, I adapt my lessons to each student’s goals. My methodology combines: Building a solid technical foundation (right- and left-hand coordination, tone, articulation). Developing rhythm, harmony, and improvisation skills through practical exercises. Learning songs and repertoire that connect directly with the student’s interests (jazz, pop, rock, bossa nova, or classical). Encouraging creativity and self-expression, so students not only play but also find their own musical voice. Integrating ear training and theory in a clear and practical way, always linked to the guitar. I believe that music should be both enjoyable and challenging, and I strive to create a positive environment where students feel inspired to practice, explore, and grow as musicians. Why Learn Guitar with Me? Learning guitar is not just about playing notes – it’s about discovering your own voice, building confidence, and enjoying the process of making music. With me, you’ll get personalized lessons tailored to your goals, whether you want to play your favorite songs, dive into jazz improvisation, strengthen your technique, or prepare for music school auditions. What makes studying with me different is the combination of professional stage experience – performing at international jazz festivals and competitions – and a dedication to teaching that puts the student first. I’ll help you develop the skills you need while keeping lessons fun, creative, and motivating. No matter your level, I’ll guide you step by step so you can see real progress and feel the joy of playing music. 🎸 Book your first lesson today and let’s start your musical journey together!

Music Production classes for ALL levels. Personalized and tailored to what you want to learn (Pre-production, Recording, Editing).Translate this text using Google Translate.

My approach as a teacher: I teach through practice and creativity. I believe the best way to learn music is by making music. My classes are tailored to the student's interests and level: you can come with an idea in mind or a project already underway, and we'll work together to take it to the next level. I'm interested in training musicians with judgment, sensitivity, and real tools to thrive in the industry. Teaching techniques and methods: • 100% personalized classes, focused on your goals. • Work with DAWs (Ableton Live, Studio One, Pro Tools) and real recording tools. • Song analysis, structures, harmony, sound design and mixing. • Development of artistic identity and guidance in creative processes. • Constant feedback and focus on your own projects if you wish. What are the classes like: Each class has a practical and dynamic approach. We can work on singing, guitar, composition, production, recording, mixing, and applied music theory. The idea is to progress step by step, without losing sight of your style and interests. Who are the classes for? My classes are aimed at: • People who are passionate and want to learn about music. • Musicians who want to start producing their own songs. • People interested in music production from scratch. • Artists who already have songs and want to improve their sound. • Self-taught students looking for more structured guidance. • You don't need previous experience or professional equipment: just a desire to learn.
