Trusted teacher: (for English description see below) Hi there, I offer tutoring for math and science subjects here. Regardless of whether it's school, university or work - having to learn to pass a subject is neither fun nor much point, as you'll soon forget most of it. But how can it be better? I have experienced several times how much of success depends on the emotions associated with learning. That's why I'll try to create an environment in which you feel free to make mistakes - because mistakes are important for learning! I rely on understanding, patience and curiosity to develop a positive relationship with learning rather than applying pressure. Following the neurobiologist Gerald Hüther, I see the art in setting just the right big challenges to be exciting but not frightening, so that you automatically develop joy in discovery. I would be happy to have an introductory meeting in order to take your needs and wishes into account from the outset. Background information about me: I am a qualified engineer (mechanical engineering) with 3 years of work experience, as well as a master's degree in bionics (cross-sectional discipline between biology and engineering) and a PhD in environmental protection of mountain regions. I was active as a youth leader at the Alpine Club. I have been giving tutoring lessons on the side ever since I was at school. I am pleased to meet you. Trusted teacher: Often times in Math and Science subjects, students end up feeling lost because they didn't fully grasp a fundamental concept or gain enough confidence in using it. Classes often have a strict schedule to follow, which does not allow them the flexibility of revisiting concepts a student may have missed. Rather than marching on at an unstoppable pace, I place focus on figuring out what gaps in knowledge a student might have and addressing those first, to ensure their foundation is strong enough to always know what the next step is. My goal is to teach a student how to use their pre-existing knowledge to be able to analyse new concepts and to develop their problem solving and inference skills. Being able to consistently figure out what you don't know and what you can figure out is the basis of strong learning and problem solving skills, and I aim to make this approach a second nature for my students. Furthermore, knowing what inevitably needs to be memorized (and how to drill this information into your brain) and what can be easily reconstructed from a problem's given information and what you know, are, in my opinion, the cornerstones of efficient study and test-taking skills. Instilling this concept into my students' processes is another of my major goals. As for whom this class may suit: I can teach Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics from an elementary school level to the university level (depending on the exact subject), and can teach Chemistry up to the high school senior level. If you are unsure about whether a topic or class falls into this range, please feel free to message me!

Trusted teacher: Dear students and parents, I am an enthusiastic and hard-working multilingual (English, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani) Math and Statistics educator and Data Analyst with 12 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience in an international environment. First, as a Math Teacher, my main aim is to encourage students to analyze the problem carefully and find different solutions for one question. This method helps students to choose the easiest way of solution for her/him during the exam and finish it in time. I teach students both ways how to solve questions without a calculator with math tricks, and how to use a calculator more effectively. As you know in the exam there might be non-calculator and calculator papers. Moreover, this ability helps students not only to understand the math subject deeply but also will be very helpful during their adult life. As a Math High-Level and Standard-Level (AA, AI) teacher in IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Program) the part of my teaching also consisted of supervising students’ research projects. Previous research experience in the frame of UNDP (UN Development Program) by that time was very valuable. Being an IB Math Examiner helped me to see the clear picture of students' mistakes done during the solutions. So, I teach students how to show their solutions to get more marks on the exam. Working with British School during this hard time of COVID taught me to be prepared for any challenges, to make decisions in a very short time, to be ready for any daily but very important changes. Teaching online became more interesting by using such helpful math tools as Desmos, GeoGebra, TI 84 Calculator Online, etc. Having teaching experience (Math and Statistics) in one of the top universities of the US (UW-Madison) helped me clearly to see the path of a student from the school bench to the university auditorium. Only by working in both school and university, you can understand what is better to learn for a student to be helpful in the future university years. Years of hands-on work experience and a keen interest in Math teaching as a profession, excellent Math and Statistical skills, a deep understanding of IB Global mission, being curious to learn the new curriculum (IGCSE, A-Level), and clearly seeing the connection between the school and university Math have prepared me well to see strengths and weaknesses of the student and how to use that strong side of a student to improve the gaps that student earned in her/his earlier years. Therefore, I believe that all these experiences will help me smoothly rise the level of my students and succeed in their future life. Sincerely, Leila

Trusted teacher: Math lessons: Support + Coaching + Methodology = SUCCESS 🚀✨ What if we gave more meaning to mathematics 😉? The loss of meaning (or even logic) and interest, the feeling of feeling overwhelmed and discouraged by the lessons... it's a feeling that many people have experienced when learning math! My own experience of these difficulties made me want to help learners find pleasure in their study journey. After obtaining an engineering degree, life led me to question the learning process itself. I then became passionate about neuroscience (in addition to personal development in general) and have helped more than 50 students at home and online in recent years. 🌻 Why choose my support? - My experience as a student: it is easier to put yourself in the shoes of a student who has difficulties when you can say “I've been there”. Indeed, it is my student journey that allowed me to understand the challenges of learning and how to get out of it! - An adapted approach: thanks to my sensitivity for psychology and my experience in tutoring, I know how to adapt to the person in front of me. Depending on his emotions/beliefs or his personality, I adapt my speech, the objectives and the organization of the lessons. - A knowledge of the functioning of the brain: Self-taught and passionate about neuroscience, I support learners on scientifically validated techniques and I bring understanding to our learning processes. - Certification in neuroscience: By 2024, I will be certified as a practitioner in neuroscience by Dr. Mario BEAUREGARD, Canadian neuroscientist emeritus. This training allows me to support learners on their potential but also to change their visions of themselves through recognized studies in neuroscience. - “Local” virtual support: Some people consider online courses to be impersonal. Through my support, I accompany the learners before and AFTER the lessons. Although the lesson time is important, the before/after is just as important. So I set up monitoring and support tools. Technology is good 🙂 - Schedule flexibility: In general, face-to-face courses do not allow you to choose a “last-minute” course. I offer my students slots every day between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. (French time). This gives them time to settle down after the study day before resuming homework/classes or even to have a class before a surprise quiz the next day! 🌻 Why teaching? I need to feel useful. Through teaching, I help students of all ages regain confidence and better understand themselves in order to perform and have fun. From my experience, I like to transmit what I would have liked to have on my way. 🌻 My study background After a Scientific Baccalaureate in France (CEGEP for Quebec), I turned to a Preparatory Class for the Grandes Ecoles (CPGE also called Maths sup/Maths spé). Over these 2 years, the school level required a square organization to pass the entrance exams to engineering school. This is when my thoughts on methodology began. I then obtained an engineering degree in France in Industrial Engineering. Homeschooling allowed me to make ends meet during my studies. I then established my practice and my own teaching methodology before leaving for Canada in September 2021 and making this dream come true! 🌻 My favorite mantra? “Be the change you want to see in the world” by our dear Gandhi 🙂 🌻 My favorite subject? Functions ; because we can juggle with many other mathematics chapters and subjects Methodology ; whether it is providing the student with relevant support or proposing innovative ideas so that he or she takes pleasure in studying! 🌻 How classes work - My lessons are based on 3 points: Adaptation, Follow-up and Pleasure - We make a first call to get an idea of the objectives, the challenges, the learning context - The first lesson is used to understand each other, to create an atmosphere where the student will feel confident to express their difficulties/emotions. Depending on the subject, I do a first test on the basics of mathematics. - Secondly, I create your digital collaboration space and we plan a first action plan with the next courses. (With some exceptions, I always give exercises to rework what has been seen together) - I can be reached every day of the week for questions and advice - Have access to: Whatsapp, Google Drive and Google Meet 🌻 Class schedule Currently in Canada, I am available from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. (French time)! I can be reached every day and I offer last-minute slots every day.

Trusted teacher: I provide private tutoring in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for secondary school students (grades 1-5), CEGEP students (Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Physics) and university students, with a teaching approach adapted to each level and the specific needs of each student. Let me introduce myself: my name is Yazid, and I'm currently a student in Aerospace Engineering at ÉTS Montréal. I also hold a joint degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from ENSEEIHT (Toulouse, France), specializing in Mechatronics. Before that, I completed an intensive program in mathematics and physics in France, which allowed me to develop a rigorous work ethic and gain admission to a top engineering school. It was during this training that I discovered my passion for teaching. I started helping my classmates when they were struggling with certain courses, and I quickly realized that pedagogy is a crucial skill. Tutoring is effective because, as a former student who faced the same challenges, I know exactly how to explain complex concepts and where students might encounter difficulties. I offer in-home tutoring, either at my place or yours. I also offer online tutoring using an interactive whiteboard to explain concepts visually and dynamically. This method has proven effective, and I am comfortable adapting to each student's specific needs. I am also very flexible with scheduling to accommodate your availability and requirements. Feel free to ask me questions about my methods or my teaching approach. I do everything I can to help my students progress, and it will be a real pleasure to guide you on your journey! If you have urgent requests (such as before an exam) or if you are looking for regular tutoring, please contact me! I ordered a lesson from Leila for my daughter. She needed help with Calculus. Leila is really professional in Math and pedagogy. She carefully researched needs of my daughter and prepared a worksheet based on her gaps and progress. This is really professional approach. Moreover her explanations are clear and easy understandable. For some questions she showed even 2 or 3 solutions. My daughter is very happy with math lessons of Leila.

Serdane is a wonderful teacher. Although my daughter learnt French at school she was very unconfident. Serdane was very sympathetic and gave her interesting material to read, discuss and to learn in class. She also went back to the basics which my daughter had missed out on at school and eventually my daughter graduated with 8.8 in French at the European BAC!
