Are you interested in learning how to play the guitar and exploring the captivating world of music? Would you like to be able to express yourself through guitar? Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or an advanced player, I am here to guide you through your own musical journey and help you reach the level that you aim for. I am a classically trained guitarist with several years of experience and through professional guidance and lessons adapted to your own personality, we can discover your creative side. My aim is to help students acquire a correct technique and deep understanding of music and expression, which will help them perform important pieces of the classical guitar repertoire, as well as songs and pieces of different genres. About me: I am Nikos and I am a classical guitarist with 15 years of experience. I started playing classical guitar at the age of 10 and from the age of 14, with the supervision of my teacher, I have been helping and guiding younger guitar students, giving me a hands-on experience in teaching from an early age. In 2019, I obtained my soloist diploma from the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts, giving me the right to teach and since then I have been teaching privately. Currently, I am studying with professor Pavel Steidl, at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and I have been attending a Music Pedagogy course, as well as courses in Early Music. Since 2014, I have been attending guitar festivals and academies, giving me the opportunity to learn from some of the most important classical guitarists of our era and also be awarded prizes in national and international competitions, such as the 1st prize in Palaio Faliro guitar festival in Athens in 2020 and the 3rd prize in the 1st International Nikita Koshkin competition in Russia in 2021. In 2024, I was honored to receive a scholarship given each year to two European guitarists, giving me the opportunity to attend the Volterra Project Summer Guitar Institute 2024 in Volterra, Italy. Music Theory: In 2020 and 2021, I graduated from the music theory departments of the Hellenic Conservatory with a degree in Music Harmony and a degree in Counterpoint.

I am a professional classical guitarist and lutenist with many years of teaching experience. I tailor lessons to my students' needs and interests. This may mean training a young classical guitarist for a professional career, teaching a beginner to play his or her favorite pop song, or anything in between! Learning to play the lute, mandolin, or ukulele are other possibilities, or perhaps improving one's knowledge of music theory. I have a background in electric guitar, electric bass, and traditional Irish music. Whatever the style or instrument, I always strive to impart or reinforce the fundamentals of technique and musicianship.

The goal is always to create the best possible learning environment where you can confidently grow and achieve your musical goals.

I want to make lessons fun and personal from the start by diving into the music that the student likes as quickly as possible. Besides that, I learn the necessary theory (chords, techniques, etc.) to learn to play well. We take some time in each lesson to answer all your questions. In addition to the above lesson activities, we can also record your playing or a cover at my location upon request, always fun to let friends and family hear what you are working on of course.

Guitar for beginners. This is the course where you learn the basic guitar skills. I teach electric, classical and acoustic (folk, flatpicking) guitars, you can learn a mix of these similar yet very specific techniques or focus on the one of your preference. In electric and acoustic guitars the first challenges are pick control, hand coordination and left hand positions (and shifting them). With classical guitar the goal will be using the right hand fingers independently, including the thumb for the bass notes and the left hand will have similar challenges to the other guitars. In classical guitar we will be playing polyphonic pieces (several voices) more often, in electric we’ll focus on chords, riffs and solos and with the acoustic we’ll play also chords with different strumming patterns, melodies, solos and lots of flatpicking exercises. Intermediate to advanced levels. If you want to take your guitar playing more seriously, this is the course for you. After having some control over the basic guitar techniques you may want to take it a little further, improvising, building your own chord progressions and solos and having a next level technique to improve your playing. In Guitar 2 we’ll work with scales, arpeggios, improvising, different picking techniques, more sophisticated harmonies, new chord voicings and tips to play in a group context. We will play blues, jazz and more advanced rock solos and riffs to help you build a strong and confident musical language. One of the things I’ve been doing over the years is helping candidates to University music courses to get ready for their admission exams and getting the skills needed to begin this new step of their lives successfully. That’s something I really like to do.

[Important message!]: [UNFORTUNATELY NOT ACTIVE AT THE MOMENT DUE TO SURGERY! As soon as I can pick up the guitar and play again, this message will disappear.] Would you like to take a trial guitar lesson or do you know someone who would like a trial guitar lesson and do you live in the Zoetermeer area? I give guitar lessons to children and adults, I play many music genres from blues to rock. You can take lessons in playing acoustic guitar and/or playing electric guitar. Sidenote: I do not teach children under the age of 10, because this age still wants to discover which instrument suits him/her. I really specifically teach guitar lessons. 30 min: 20,- 45 minutes: 25,- 60 min: 30,- So if you know someone or want to teach yourself a message! I am certainly cheaper than most music schools!

Whether you're picking up the guitar for the first time, returning to playing as an adult, or building on skills you already have, my lessons focus on helping you develop a strong musical foundation, build confidence, and play real songs you enjoy. Many people begin learning guitar by memorizing a few chords or songs, but understanding how music works makes it much easier to keep progressing. In my lessons, I'll guide you step-by-step, so they develop the skills and knowledge you need to learn new songs independently over time. Through practical, song-based learning, you'll develop essential skills like chords, rhythm, technique, and musical understanding. Each lesson is personalized to your goals, interests, and learning pace. I'm also passionate about helping families connect through music! I offer family guitar lessons for parents and children, as well as siblings who want to learn guitar together. Whether you're all complete beginners or have different levels of experience, we'll build skills step by step and learn to play guitar together. My goal is to help your family make music a fun, shared experience while growing in confidence and musical ability. I believe learning music should be both rewarding and enjoyable. I'll meet you where you are, encourage you through challenges, and celebrate your progress in a supportive environment where you feel comfortable learning, experimenting, and making mistakes.
