Dear Music Students,

I am an American guitarist, composer, and teacher from the US newly relocated to the Netherlands, based in Delft and offering music lessons at home in my living room and at my studio location in the Hague. I did my bachelor's in guitar performance at Berklee College of Music where I specialized in Jazz, and hold master's degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp where I specialized in Composition and Electronic music.

While my background is in Jazz my interests have always been broad and I'm happy to work with students at a variety of levels of experience, stylistic backgrounds and interests. Whether you are new to music and to the guitar and want to just learn the basics and strum the chords to some songs or are already interested in more advanced techniques and challenging pieces I'm sure with my background, education and experience that I can be a helpful resource for you. I do understand a bit of Dutch but I don't speak well yet so my lessons are taught in English.

About Me

Alexander is a seasoned guitarist, composer and educator from the US based in the Netherlands. He has been described by renowned music educator Hal Crook in JazzWax as a "future major voice in Jazz," and by All About Jazz as "a superb composer, an original improviser, and an apt bandleader." He holds a bachelor's degree in guitar performance from the renowned Berklee College of Music where he was awarded the performance division achievement award twice, and master's degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp where he studied Jazz, Composition and Electronic music.

Alexander has appeared at major venues in America, Europe and Asia such as The Kennedy Center, The Bohemian Caverns, Scullers, MIT and Harvard University Radio WHRB (US), A-Trane, B-Flat, Kunstfabrik Schlott (DE), The Music Village, The Hotclub Gent (BE), The Bimhuis (NE), Opus Jazz Club (HU), Cafesjian Center for the Arts (AM), Ogikubo Velvet Sun (JP), and All That Jazz (KR) as well as festivals such as the DC Jazz Festival, JEN Jazz Conference, Beantown Jazz Festival (US), Morgenland Festival, Fusion Festival (DE), Lamantin Jazz Festival (HU), and the Goldon Apricot Film Festival (AM). I teach electric and acoustic guitar in many guitar based genres of music, including every type of rock music and pop music, blues and funk, etc. Lessons I offer are tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each individual student. If you are a beginner and don't have all the equipment, don't worry, I own several guitars, two guitar amplifiers and many effect pedals, so even if you don't have all the equipment yourself we can have a fully productive lesson at my home.

Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo.

Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory.

I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs.

Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score.

Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom.

I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training.

Currently students from 4 to 76 years old are taking my lessons. As an educator, I am committed to the process of learning while making lessons enjoyable and constructive.

My name is Daniil. I am a pianist and composer from Ukraine. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in composition, piano, and pedagogy at Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 2018 and my Master's in Music composition from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in 2020.

The main power of music is in its ability to open up worlds of communication that are inaccessible otherwise. Therefore, in our lessons, we will use technical exercises, solfège, and music theory (if/when needed) to achieve the level of performance that will allow for the ultimate goal – having fun playing for or with your friends and family. Apart from working on your favorite pieces and classical repertoire, we will work on your skills of sight-reading and improvisation. We will also play pieces together, either on a piano in four hands or with me on the violin.

I have almost ten years of experience teaching piano, composition, solfège, harmony and counterpoint, and music theory. Among my students were kids aiming for (and succeeding at) admission into higher music education institutions, conservatory students who needed help with their music theory and piano classes, and kids and adults who studied music in their spare time.

No matter what your goal (or lack thereof) is for studying music, we will find an appropriate pace, structure, and repertoire. The classes can take place either at my house in Scheveningen or at a student's location in The Hague.

About me:
I am Nikos and I am a classical guitarist with 15 years of experience. I started playing classical guitar at the age of 10 and from the age of 14, with the supervision of my teacher, I have been helping and guiding younger guitar students, giving me a hands-on experience in teaching from an early age. In 2019, I obtained my soloist diploma from the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts, giving me the right to teach and since then I have been teaching privately. Currently, I am studying with professor Pavel Steidl, at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague and I have been attending a Music Pedagogy course, as well as courses in Early Music.

Since 2014, I have been attending guitar festivals and academies, giving me the opportunity to learn from some of the most important classical guitarists of our era and also be awarded prizes in national and international competitions, such as the 1st prize in Palaio Faliro guitar festival in Athens in 2020 and the 3rd prize in the 1st International Nikita Koshkin competition in Russia in 2021. In 2024, I was honored to receive a scholarship given each year to two European guitarists, giving me the opportunity to attend the Volterra Project Summer Guitar Institute 2024 in Volterra, Italy.

Music Theory:
In 2020 and 2021, I graduated from the music theory departments of the Hellenic Conservatory with a degree in Music Harmony and a degree in Counterpoint.

In my 1 year "Preparatory Music Course" children from the age of 5 till the age of 7 have the opportunity to get introduced to the world of music, with fun and interactive lessons!
The lessons at taught in small groups (3-5 students) where they learn all the basics of Rythm, Singing, Piano playing, Improvisation and all the important music skills in a fun way! This happens by incorporating specific group "games", instructed by the teacher and it is the best way for young children to start understanding music.
