I’m a BSc biochemistry graduate with honours from Durham University, and currently a medical student, with the aim to go into cardiothoracic surgery. I have been tutoring for over 5 years now, and have vast experience in teaching biology, english language and literature and geography, particularly online. After gaining As and A*s in my GCSEs and A-levels, I'm confident that I can help you to do the same, whilst utilising my knowledge of various exam board curriculums and what to expect in exams. I’m an experienced, approachable tutor who tailors lessons to suit you and your learning style. I have lots of tips and tricks to offer to ensure you get the highest grades you can! Whether you're struggling with the subject at school, or just want to improve your skills and knowledge, my personalised, thorough lessons will help you to reach your goals. I make my own tailored material and have a great knowledge of exam boards to ensure the best quality teaching possible, making it specific for your specification so that you can have a brilliant understanding and do well in your exams, reaching your full potential. Sessions are extremely interactive and include topic specific PowerPoints with useful diagrams, exam style questions, quizzes and various activities to ensure understanding and an overall enjoyable experience. I have a track record of helping students improve their grades and try my hardest to make sessions as relaxed, focused and engaging as possible, whilst being extremely effective. I understand that everyone learns differently and have previously helped students go from consistent 3s/4s to achieving 7s/8s in their GCSE English exams, and am confident that anyone can do the same with the correct approach and technique. In addition, I have 3 years of experience as a student mentor, helping students to understand their individual learning styles, write personal statements, and prepare for entrance exams. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

Geography as a transversal science to the evolution of the human being: The importance of the space-human relationship.Translate this text using Google Translate.

Geography is one of the oldest and most important sciences in the world. From the beginning of the human being to the present, a large part of the decisions we make are dictated by the space in which we find ourselves, even our evolutionary traits change depending on the place where we are. For this and much more, understanding the relationship that exists between human beings and space is of vital importance to reflect and study in more depth the dynamics of human societies, their formation, their processes and their advances. We will start from the beginning of the human being and the settlement of the world, passing through the classical cultures, highlighting the importance that geography had in the evolution of each of them, we will enter the Middle Ages and understand geography as a strategic weapon that It provided the ability for great empires to expand, such as the Mongols, the Ottomans, and the Romans. We will enter the modern age, passing through the historical milestones that marked the course of our civilization and the importance that geography has within them. And finally we will finish within the contemporary age, where we will explore important concepts within geography and begin to address some new approaches to this new modernity that has drastically transformed our way of living. In addition to these thematic axes, in class we will clarify doubts about the various events that occurred in the 20th century regarding world geopolitics.

Exam help for Key stages 2, 3 & 4 in Geography and BiologyTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I will provide support for students wishing to achieve higher grades in their geography and science (in particular biology) at GCSE. As well as this I will offer support with science for Key stage 2 children preparing for their SATs and ensuring a smooth transition into high school science. I achieved As in both biology and geography GCSEs and went on to study forensic sciences at college and environmental sciences at university. My sessions will support children of a lower ability using scaffolding and supportive worksheets and activities to ensure progression. In terms of higher ability children I will provide challenging activities to strengthen their subject knowledge. I will be able to complete past papers with students as well which I feel is imperative to achieving good grades as they become used to what an exam paper will look like. I will use questions from these papers and work through them with the children step by step, ensuring the children know what the question is asking them and what subject knowledge they might need. Completing exam questions step by step and writing ideas down as a ‘brain dump’ can aid memory. Understanding different learning styles is vital for progression and I understand that children all learn in different ways. I have explained a few ways in which I would support the children however I am aware and able to adapt and change my methods to suit the needs of each individual child.
