I provide lessons for beginning to advanced French horn players of all ages! We will follow a set of books on our journey and bit by bit will have fun making music! I tailor my teaching style to individual students, combining bits of their personal goals with what I think is best for their musical development. I don't believe a highly critical approach is helpful, and would prefer to work with the student to positively achieve their dreams while maintaining a high personal standard! I can help advanced high school and college horn players prepare for auditions and improve consistency and adults who may be a little intimidated by the world of the classical music and want a good place to start!

Classes adapted for all levels and ages. I enjoy sharing my passion for music and the French horn with others and having fun while doing so. I like to give students freedom so that they can develop their own knowledge as they learn. I like to give dynamic lessons in which students can actively participate, and I also participate, for example, by playing the horn with them or doing exercises that make the lessons more enjoyable. During my studies, I practised posture and relaxation techniques for musicians, something that I also consider important.

I've been researching and developing the physics of the brass instruments during last years and giving high range improvement classes. A bit about me: I have 2 Bachelor's degrees from the Portuguese National Orchestra Academy (Lisbon) and The Royal Conservatory of the Hague, and a Master's from the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar (Germany). I have played with orchestras in Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal, including Rotterdam Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Weimar, Staatskapelle Halle, Phion, Noord Nederlands Orkest and many others. Since 2017, I am a member of the Amsterdam-based, Intercontinental Ensemble. We perform concerts regularly throughout the Netherland and have released 3 CDs.
