Hi, I’m Libby, a native British English tutor, Business Communication Facilitator, and Language Specialist with a passion for helping professionals communicate more confidently, naturally, and effectively in English. I currently work with professionals from around the world across industries, including tech, medicine, finance, law, logistics, customer service, and big data. Whether you are preparing for presentations, interviews, meetings, or simply want to better understand fast-paced native conversations, I provide personalised coaching tailored to your goals and communication style. Before moving fully into language coaching, I worked with major international brands including RBS, Santander, Audi, and other multinational companies in roles involving sales, corporate customer relations, and business-to-business debt recovery. These experiences gave me a strong understanding of how language influences trust, negotiation, and professional success. I was also part of RBS’s internal facilitation team, where I helped troubleshoot and ease difficult workplace situations. This taught me how to use language to open dialogue, build confidence, and communicate effectively even in challenging conversations, skills I now bring into every lesson. My teaching focuses on practical, real-world English. I help students improve business communication, conversational fluency, accent reduction, interview preparation, presentation skills, and natural phrasing so they can sound more confident and authentic when speaking with native English speakers. Alongside teaching, I also work in digital communication and content strategy, creating SEO content, blog articles, marketing copy, and online engagement strategies for businesses and global audiences. I additionally work with international digital assessment companies, analysing online content for accuracy, compliance, and quality. This keeps me highly aware of modern communication trends, digital language, and how English is used naturally in professional environments today. With a background in global finance, multinational logistics, entrepreneurship, and communication coaching, I bring a practical, adaptable, and supportive approach to teaching. I am known for being approachable, tech-savvy, encouraging, and able to adapt lessons to each student’s needs and personality quickly. I tailor my lessons to each student and their needs. I use videos, podcasts, newspaper articles and more, to discover new vocabulary and bring it to life through discussion and debate. Doing it this way, I help my students understand the natural speech patterns and phrases of native speakers and incorporate them into their own daily speech. My lessons are friendly, relaxed, and designed to help you make genuine progress while enjoying the learning process. I understand the challenges of learning and the importance of patience, encouragement, and lessons that feel engaging rather than overwhelming. I look forward to helping you unlock your potential by building your confidence, fluency, and success in English. Get in touch and let's discuss how to move you forward in the best way for you.

Hugh is a teacher unlike anything I have ever experienced. He positively surprised me several times. The way of teaching is very impressive. From the first moment I felt at ease. I was quite insecure about my English language but Hugh helped me completely. In addition to improving my English language, Hugh has also taught me some great life lessons. What sets Hugh apart is not just his knowledge but his ability to connect with the student. His approachability and genuine concern for my understanding have created an atmosphere where I felt valued and encouraged. In addition, he was a fascinating motivator and a great source of inspiration, the perfect example of what an English teacher should be. It is clear that he has a lot of experience in everything that has to do with teaching. After every lesson I went home with a very good feeling. His teaching style is very excellent! I can highly recommend Hugh! I feel privileged to have had Hugh as my teacher, and I am grateful for the positive influence he had in improving my English language. Thank you Hugh, your dedication for me have not gone unnoticed and are deeply appreciated! Blue Skies!

Miss Sara is a very good teacher. She has a way to keep my 6 year old daughter engaged and encouraged while increasing her abilities in French. I have seen my daughter improve drastically. She challenges her and she started reading many words in the space of 3 months when she could not before in French. The exercises she gives touches a wide range of topics (syllables, vocabulary, sentance building etc) that has allowed my English speakig daughter to cope well in her French school environment. She started understanding what people say to her in French which is amazing.

Gemma was a wonderful teacher. Her and I walked around Florence while she was simultaneously teaching me Italian. Her easy going and positive attitude made learning fun while also being very substantial. Gemma is super patient, and after the second day I could construct longer, more complicated sentences. I had mentioned some struggles I have had within schooling where I struggled with pronouns and prepositions, and by the first day I could do it easy no problem due to her explanations being very good. Overall I Gemma is a very good tutor and I highly recommend her.
