IB SCIENCE HL 6–7 Mastery: Personalized Strategy to Score HigherTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I graduated with a perfect 45/45 in the IB Diploma and achieved 7/7 in both Biology HL and Chemistry HL. I also have over 3 years of teaching experience. In this class, I’ll share the strategies, techniques, and exam approaches that helped me achieve those results. This class is focused on more than simply reviewing the syllabus. We will focus on how to approach IB science questions, apply your knowledge effectively, maximize marks, and consistently perform at a 6–7 level. What we will focus on: - How to approach difficult IB-style questions - Strategies for moving from a 5 to a 6 or from a 6 to a 7 - How to understand command terms and what questions are really asking - How to structure answers to maximize marks - Data analysis, graphs, calculations, and experimental questions - Common mistakes that cost students marks - Time management and exam strategy - Challenging 6–7 level Biology HL and Chemistry HL questions We will work through challenging IB-style Biology and Chemistry questions step by step, focusing not only on what the correct answer is, but why the markscheme awards marks for it and how to recognize similar questions in an exam. Whether you are currently working toward a 6, trying to push from a 6 to a 7, or simply want to become significantly stronger in IB Biology HL or Chemistry HL, this class will give you a clear and practical strategy for maximizing your exam performance.

IGCSE and IB Physics, Maths and Chemistry tutoringTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Tutoring for International Baccalaureate (IB) Maths AA HL/SL, Chemistry HL/SL, Physics HL/SL and for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) International Mathematics (0607), Additional Mathematics (0606), Physics (0625) Chemistry (0620). I aim to make sure students understand material intuitively first before delving into complicated questions and foster a friendly and patient learning environment. Instead of relying on memorising formulas, I teach students how to derive the formulas themselves, build upon their previous knowledge and use them to solve complex questions in a simple way, building their confidence in the process. To facilitate this, I use metaphors and every-day things to construct stories that help students remember concepts and relationships between them. My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, preferences and learning style so I am able to accommodate specific requests. I can help students work on improving both overall understanding of the subject as well as detailed and thorough understanding of specific topics/sub-topics. As someone who sat these exams myself, I know what the most common mistakes in each topic are, the best exam techniques and have lots of tips, tricks and resources I can share! I offer flexible scheduling, with availability during the day, early mornings, and late evenings for lessons online or in-person lessons near South Kensington. Please message me before booking so we can find a time that works for both of us! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me :)

# About Me – IB, IMAT & International University Admissions Tutor I specialise in **International Baccalaureate (IB) preparation, IMAT preparation, and international university admissions**. I have been teaching for **8 years**, working with students from primary-school level through to university. I am currently studying **Medicine and Surgery in English in Italy**, which allows me to combine extensive teaching experience with first-hand knowledge of international education, science, medicine, and the European university admissions process. My main areas of specialisation include: * **IB Biology SL & HL** * **IB Chemistry SL & HL** * **IB Mathematics AI SL** * **IB English B SL & HL** * **Theory of Knowledge (TOK)** * **Internal Assessments / Scientific Investigations** * **IMAT preparation** * **Cambridge English, FCE, CAE and TOEFL** * International university application and admissions guidance Lessons can be conducted entirely in **English, Polish or Italian**. ## Proven IB Results My teaching is strongly results-oriented, and the results achieved by my students are one of the best reflections of the system I have developed. During the **2026 IB examination session, all of my students in the subjects I supported achieved Grades 6 or 7**, including: **Grade 7 – IB Biology HL** **Grade 7 – IB Chemistry HL** **Grade 6 – IB Mathematics AI SL** I have also supported students in **English B HL and Theory of Knowledge (TOK)** who achieved results at the 6–7 level. What makes some of these results particularly meaningful is the progress behind the final grade. Some of my Chemistry students, for example, **came to me performing at approximately Grade 3 level and ultimately achieved Grades 6 and 7**. For me, tutoring is therefore not about working exclusively with students who are already excellent. A major part of my work is identifying *why* a student is losing marks and creating a realistic system that allows them to improve significantly. ## University Admissions & IMAT My work also extends beyond the IB Diploma. I support students who are preparing for international university admissions, particularly those interested in **Medicine, Dentistry and science-related degrees**. Students I worked with during the **2023, 2024 and 2025 admission cycles successfully gained university places**, including medical programmes in **Catania, Rome, Padua, Bari and Bologna**. Over the years, I have supported students applying to universities in countries including **Italy, Spain, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Japan and the United States**, across programmes such as: **Medicine • Dentistry • Business & Management • Law • International Relations • Politics & Foreign Affairs** I am currently also accepting students for **IMAT 2026 preparation**. As a medical student in Italy myself, I understand the process from both perspectives: preparing academically for a highly competitive entrance examination and navigating the practical reality of applying to medical school in Italy. --- # My Teaching Method My lessons are not designed as traditional tutoring sessions where we simply complete whatever chapter the student happens to be studying at school that week. Every student receives a **structured and individually tailored preparation strategy**. At the beginning of our cooperation, I assess the student's current level, strengths, weaknesses, school performance, examination timeline and target grade. I then create a study plan determining: * which areas require the most attention, * how the syllabus should be divided, * how much time we can dedicate to individual topics, * when cumulative revision should begin, * when we should introduce timed examination practice, * and how we can realistically progress towards the student's target grade. The strategy is continuously adjusted according to the student's progress. An HL student aiming for a Grade 7 requires a different level of depth and pace from an SL student who first needs to rebuild their foundations. Likewise, a student beginning preparation one year before the examination requires a completely different strategy from someone approaching me shortly before mocks or final examinations. --- # Extensive IB Resources Included My students receive access to a comprehensive collection of resources that we use throughout our preparation. These include: * **authentic IB past papers** * official **mark schemes** * examiner reports and examiner guidance * IB textbooks and supporting books * structured presentations for individual topics * interactive learning materials * carefully selected question banks * cumulative revision materials * examination-style tests * resources for **Internal Assessments / Scientific Investigations** * official assessment criteria and examiner guidance * resources for **TOK Essay** * resources for **TOK Exhibition** * TOK structures and templates * presentations explaining assessment requirements * examples and detailed analysis of assessment criteria Rather than giving students hundreds of unorganised questions, I select the material that is most valuable for their current stage of preparation. This makes our work considerably more focused and efficient. --- # Learning the IB Examiner's Way of Thinking Understanding the theory is only the first stage of preparation. Immediately after introducing a concept, we begin applying it to **authentic IB examination questions**. Students therefore learn the content and its examination application simultaneously. We analyse how IB formulates questions, how command terms should be interpreted, what the mark scheme requires and how much detail is necessary to receive full marks. When reviewing past papers, I do not simply tell a student whether an answer is correct or incorrect. We analyse **why** a particular answer receives the mark, why another apparently reasonable answer may lose it, which terminology is required and how the student's response could be made more precise. Over time, students begin recognising recurring IB question patterns and understanding what an examiner is actually looking for. --- # Continuous Examination Practice One of the most important elements of my teaching system is **cumulative revision**. After completing a chapter, we work through relevant examination questions. As more chapters are completed, I create tests containing material from everything the student has studied so far. For example, after completing three chapters, the student may receive an examination containing authentic past-paper questions selected exclusively from those three areas. As we progress through the syllabus, these examinations become increasingly comprehensive. This prevents one of the biggest problems I see among IB students: learning a chapter for a school test and forgetting most of it several weeks later. By the time we complete the syllabus, the student has already returned to earlier topics repeatedly. The final stage of preparation consists of **complete timed examination papers under conditions similar to the real IB examination**. The goal is for the structure of the final examination to feel familiar rather than intimidating. --- # Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English & TOK Every IB subject requires a different examination strategy. In **IB Biology SL & HL**, I focus on genuine understanding of biological mechanisms, accurate terminology, data interpretation and learning how to construct precise answers that satisfy IB mark schemes. In **IB Chemistry SL & HL**, students develop both conceptual understanding and the ability to apply Chemistry to calculations, experimental questions, data analysis and multi-step examination problems. As a medical student, I can also connect Chemistry and Biology to **biochemistry, physiology and medicine**, which is particularly valuable for students considering Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences or other science-related degrees. In **IB Mathematics AI SL**, we focus heavily on problem-solving, data analysis, calculator techniques and recognising common examination structures rather than simply memorising formulas. For **IB English B**, preparation combines language development with the specific structures, text types and assessment expectations of the IB examination. For **Theory of Knowledge**, I help students understand the assessment criteria and develop the reasoning, argumentation and structure required for both the **TOK Essay and TOK Exhibition**. --- # IA & TOK Support I also provide structured guidance for **Internal Assessments / Scientific Investigations**. Depending on the subject, I can support students with developing a suitable research question, identifying variables, designing methodology, understanding data processing, uncertainty calculations, graphs, conclusions, evaluation and improvements. My guidance is based on the relevant official assessment criteria. Importantly, the investigation and final report always remain **the student's own work**. My role is to teach students what high-quality scientific investigation and academic writing require, identify weaknesses and help them develop their own work independently. The same principle applies to **TOK Essays and Exhibitions**. Students receive structures, templates, assessment guidance and detailed explanations of the criteria, while developing their own arguments and producing their own final work. --- # IB Is Part of a Bigger Goal For many of my students, obtaining an excellent IB result is not the final objective. It is the route to a particular university and career. For this reason, I often combine academic preparation with a broader understanding of the student's university plans. This is particularly useful for students interested in **Medicine and Dentistry**, because subject selection, predicted grades, entrance examinations and application deadlines need to work together. I currently study Medicine in English in Italy myself and prepare students for the **IMAT**, allowing me to provide practical insight into the academic pathway towards medical studies in Italy. --- # My Interactive IB & IMAT Platform I am currently developing my **official interactive online learning platform dedicated to IB and IMAT preparation**. The platform is being designed to complement individual tutoring and provide students with a structured environment for independent study between our lessons. It will focus particularly on **IB examination preparation and IMAT preparation for students planning to study Medicine or Dentistry in Italy**, combining organised academic content with interactive learning and examination-focused practice. This means that preparation does not stop when our weekly lesson finishes. Students can continue studying independently between sessions while following the same structured approach we use together. My students benefit from my structured preparation system and extensive collection of **IB past papers, mark schemes, textbooks, presentations, interactive resources, examination materials, IA guidance, TOK resources and assessment guidance** throughout our cooperation. --- # What I Expect From My Students My lessons are structured, supportive and demanding. I understand how much IB students are managing simultaneously: six subjects, Internal Assessments, TOK, the Extended Essay, mock examinations and often university applications. For this reason, I create an ambitious but realistic plan and clearly establish priorities. At the same time, I expect consistency. Excellent results cannot be guaranteed simply by attending one tutoring lesson each week. The student must also be willing to practise, complete assigned work and learn from mistakes. My responsibility is to provide the student with the **strategy, explanations, resources, examination practice and academic support** necessary to make that work as effective as possible. My ultimate goal is not simply to finish the syllabus. I want my students to enter their final examinations **understanding the subject, recognising IB question patterns, knowing what the examiner expects and having practised the examination process so many times that they know exactly how to approach it**. A Grade 6 or 7 should not depend on getting lucky with the questions on examination day. It should be the result of **structured preparation, consistent practice and genuine understanding**.

Maths (Calculus & Algebra), Sciences and Languages tutoring school & university students - Baccalaureate, IB, Cambridge, EBTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Welcome to my tutoring classes, where curiosity is taken seriously and every student is met exactly where they are. I offer tutoring in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, general Sciences, and academic English, taught by a chemist and biologist who holds two Master's degrees and has spent more than fifteen years inside university science — as a researcher, and as a Graduate Assistant and Instructor. My teaching philosophy revolves around a step-by-step approach: nothing moves forward until the concept underneath it holds. I teach science and mathematics the way they actually work — through real experiments, worked examples, and drawings — rather than as lists of facts and formulas to memorise, because understanding that you can reason your way to an answer is what makes a subject stop being frightening. My own path shows what patient teaching makes possible. I have stood on both sides of the laboratory bench: preparing reagents and unknowns, running teaching labs, and guiding undergraduates through the exact experiments and calculations that once confused me. That experience taught me that struggling with chemistry, biology, or maths is almost never about ability — it is about a missing link nobody stopped to explain. During my lessons I create a calm, supportive environment and adapt to each student's needs, whether that means rebuilding a shaky foundation, sharpening exam technique, or learning how to read a question properly. My commitment goes beyond grades: I want students to leave a session feeling capable rather than rescued. Join me on this journey, whether you are a school student meeting chemistry or algebra for the first time, a candidate preparing for official or university entrance exams, or a university student working through general and analytical chemistry, quantitative problem-solving, or scientific writing. Tell me the subject, the level, and your deadline, and we will build the plan around it.

Maths & Physics-Chemistry: a tailor-made method to understand the logic and regain confidenceTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Maths & Physics-Chemistry: a tailor-made method to understand the logic and regain confidenceTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Understanding science is not an innate gift, but a matter of good explanation methods. When a concept is approached with simple images, common sense, and visual diagrams, the block disappears and the logic becomes clear. Passionate about teaching, I have been teaching since 2019. My dual background in science and literature allows me to translate abstract concepts into clear, lively and straightforward explanations, far from the jargon that often discourages students. My educational approach: Identify the point of blockage: at the beginning of the session, we review the doubts and concepts poorly understood in class in order to start again on solid foundations. Tailor-made explanation: I re-explain the lesson by adapting my analogies, diagrams and concrete examples to the student's way of thinking. Guided practical application: we break down the statements together to identify key clues, choose the right mathematical or physical tool and structure an impeccable scientific writing. Error analysis & autonomy: understanding the origin of a mistake makes it possible to avoid repeating it and to approach supervised assignments with complete serenity. Practical details: Online course Availability between sessions to answer a blocking question before an evaluation.

Hi! Looking for a boost with your studies in a friendly and stress-free way? My name is Hugo, and I offer private tutoring and academic support. I've just successfully completed my first year of high school and am starting my second year this year, so I have the entire curriculum, exam strategies, and content fresh in my mind. I know exactly what you're facing because I'm going through it all myself! What sets me apart as a teacher is my passion for teaching in a dynamic and engaging way. I don't like the typical boring lecture where I just deliver the theory and expect you to memorize it; I prefer to find ways to make the most difficult concepts "click" in your mind. I firmly believe that there are no impossible subjects, only poorly adapted explanations. That's why I focus on explaining things one-on-one, with a lot of patience and practical examples. As a current student myself, I completely understand the frustration of not understanding something the first time and the pressure of grades. My goal is to be that trusted support that helps you gain confidence, overcome your fear of the most challenging subjects, and better organize your study time. I have complete flexibility to adapt to your schedule and organize the sessions. If you want us to achieve your goals together this year at a good pace, don't hesitate to write to me and we'll plan our first class!
