Cello is in my opinion the best and most versatile instrument that western culture has produced. I am a student at the University of Chicago majoring in music with an ABRSM Grade 8 qualification in Cello Practical Performance. I would love to teach weekly cello lessons (+ music theory) to a student of any age. Depending on the student's goals, these lessons could range from playing interesting pieces for fun to focusing more on technique (scales, études, etc.) and standard repertoire (solo suites, sonatas, concertos, etc.). I studied cello at the Nice Regional Conservatory with Frédéric Audibert, where I obtained my DEM (Diplôme d'études musicales) in 2016. I then minored in music performance at the Pennsylvania State University, where I studied with Kim Cook. I especially love playing chamber music, and I also play the harpsichord.

Learning an instrument is not only a skill, but a lifetime enjoyment. The need to express emotions or let loose some inner tension, an instrument is the perfect tool. Music sings the sound of the soul, and the cello is the perfect instrument. Having played the cello for 18 years, i can say that music is a must for a happy life. It is the universal language. Ciao a tutti/Konnichiwa/Hello! My name is Amelia and I am a Canadian-born British/Japanese cellist currently based in Italy living in the Republic of San Marino. Being a musician is not just learning how to learning only the technical aspects of the instrument, but also the skill of working with others in a professional environment. I found that the skills I learnt from music was not just about being proficient at my instrument, but to learn to have discipline and patience (Much easier said than done!). Teaching Mission: My mission for students is for them to learn to apply themselves in music or any field they decide to pursue. Growing up, I often mixed the dedication and time I needed to stay in a room practicing to living a life of isolation. It is not until very recently that I have felt the real benefits and what a gift to see how music really does bring me closer to people in a way that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Rachael is a mezzo soprano based in London with an extensive teaching and performance career. After graduating from Leeds College of Music in 2016 with a first class honours undergraduate degree, Rachael has continued her learning with Julie Kennard, in preparation for a Masters in Opera Performance. Rachael teaches across London both privately and in schools, where she runs workshops in musicianship and performance. Rachael also plays cello, and studied for three years with esteemed cellist Alfia Nakipbekova. Rachael plays regularly with orchestras, and also has experience in the popular music setting, where she has played with bands in Leeds and London. Teaching in Singing Rachael teaches all levels and ages of singers.
