I am a certified Music Teacher and have been teaching guitar lessons since 2011. In my classes I help my students to enjoy music through songs, teaching theoretical and technical concepts that allow them to create habits of practice and learning to explore and learn new things for themselves in the future. The ukulele is a great instrument to learn, no matter how old or young you are! With the capability to be both a beginner's instrument and a more advanced one, learning to play the ukulele is a great skill to have for aspiring musicians and those who wish to engage the creative sides of their brains a little more! The ukulele is also a great stepping stone to playing the guitar, due to the knowledge that you gain of the skills needed to progress. In my lessons, you will learn simple chords and finger placements, as well as some basic songs that you can play with the same three or four chords! You will learn how to play different types of chords, which can be played in several different ways depending on your personal preference and ability, and after practising these chords, I will teach you some songs that can be played and evolved with the knowledge you have gained. Additionally, I will teach you to read music at a basic level, and I will teach the simple steps you can take to remembering the names and placements of notes on the manuscripts (the term used for the type of paper where musical notes are written). This is a great lesson, for children and teenagers alike, that I hope you will enjoy!

My name is Antonio and as a teacher I have 30 years of experience, during which I taught people of all ages, and I have been teaching for 9 years at the City Lit College and I worked for the International London School in Acton. Also in June 2020 I attended and passed the training for online teaching, through Newham Music Trust. I consider one of my qualities, as a teacher, to be able to keep my student focused and motivated by giving them a hands-on experience from the beginning, making the music lesson a shared event rather than something imposed by a rigid pupil-teacher hierarchy which sometimes does not give the results desired. Finally, I have a degree in Musicology from the University of Pavia and a Diploma from the Milanese Music College “Centro Professione Musica” in Jazz Guitar.

I teach based on your interests, expectations, and skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We can only focus on the technical aspects of playing the instrument, or we can also tackle other subjects like music reading, modern harmony, improvisation, arrangement, composition, on different genres (rock, blues, pop, jazz, world, folk, reggae, fusion, etc).
