Trusted teacher: First of all, congratulations on getting this far: finding the right teacher is not easy, but the hardest part is behind you. My method is innovative and differs from the classic French system (obsolete and archaic): The student learns to become independent and autonomous by integrating technical principles applicable to different scenarios, somewhat according to the philosophy of Asian martial arts (but rest assured, nothing martial here, everything is done flexibly). My lessons are fun, and are aimed at beginners as well as experienced ones. The first step consists of first validating a few quick theoretical and technical bases. This is a crucial step to progress quickly and efficiently: what is a grade? A deal ? An arpeggio? A range ? How to hold a pick? In what position to play? Once the basics have been acquired, the student can learn pieces of their choice or work on particular playing techniques (picking, alternate picking, tapping, etc.) always in accordance with their needs, and above all their desires! Obviously the content is adapted to each person, the same goes for the style: Rock, Blues, Pop, Variety, Reggae, Metal... the possibilities are endless. For those who wish to risk it, the theme of improvisation is also on the program: Contrary to popular belief, this discipline is not reserved for the elite or the experienced, everyone is capable of it with a little training and an appropriate method. Music is an artistic field, everyone can see a future in it as long as the motivation is there!

Hi, I’m Ana, guitarist, guitar and ukulele teacher and music pedagogue. About me:
I graduated in classical guitar at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Seville (Spain) and in music pedagogy and Master in Music and Performance at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg (Germany).
I have teaching experience in public and private schools and conservatories in Spain and Germany. Currently, I combine concert activity with teaching guitar and ukulele online. What will you learn with me? - To accompany yourself with guitar or ukulele while singing. - To read chords, tablature and sheet music. - Listen to a song and identify the meter, rhythm and appropriate accompaniment patterns. - Interpret and play different musical styles. - To improve your technique with exercises adapted to your level. For whom? - If you want to learn to play the guitar and/or ukulele. - You want to improve your technique, rhythm, musicality or interpretation. - You are self-taught and have specific questions, feel unsure how to progress or would like some extra support to complement the online tutorials you use. - You want to prepare entrance exams or competitions. - You have no access to music lessons in your area or prefer to learn from home. My approach - Lessons and materials adapted to your level, interests, and way of learning. - Together we’ll choose a repertoire that fits your musical preferences. - I support what we do in class with tutorial videos to guide your practice at home. - I can teach in Spanish, German, and English. I would love to accompany you on your musical learning process!
Kind regards,
 Ana Benítez

“I’m really loving the feels of that” BBC Introducing “Filled with delicate nuances” Folk Radio TESTIMONIALS: "My son has had Josh as a guitar tutor for 6 years. I can highly recommend him. He has a fantastic manner and rapport with his students. He is an exceptionally skilled guitar player and tutor. My son has made phenomenal progress with Josh and has enjoyed working with Josh towards his Trinity Grades in classical guitar. In addition, Josh has motivated my son to compose his own music - with fabulous results." Amanda "Josh is very talented. He is flexible about what we play and finds things that suit my ability. He creates a fun environment to learn." Arthur, aged 14 "Josh has been teaching my son electric and electro-acoustic guitar for a year. His stimulating and relaxed approach means that I find my son plays his guitar on a daily basis just because he enjoys it, yet he is still covering quite a lot of technical stuff." Polly "My 12-year old daughter has been taking guitar classes with Joshua Geffin for over a year now. Previously she tried a couple of different instruments and music teachers but even though she is very musical and loves music, she would get bored and lose interest after a while. Josh’s inspirational and creative approach to teaching changed all this. She became passionate about playing her guitar, singing and writing her own music. Practicing is no longer a chore but fun and she looks forward to her class every week. In a relatively short period she made remarkable progress and has recently won a full music scholarship at Kingsdale." Duska "I took up the guitar in my 30s and am far from a natural musician! I’ve had a few teachers – all brilliant guitarists - but none have quite combined the same high level of patience, encouragement and flexibility as Josh. He let’s me play music I love and progress at my own pace. As a ‘mature’ student with an incredibly busy job, it is important that I don’t feel under pressure if I haven’t played between lessons. Josh is completely understanding of this and the fact that he teaches at my home is a massive bonus. He is a natural and talented teacher and I would not hesitate to recommend his lessons to anyone of any level." Jeanette "I have been having lessons with Josh for around 2 years now. He has really helped develop and improve the quality of my playing and also my appreciation of music as a whole and I am very happy with my progress. The lessons are always relaxed and enjoyable, but also professional with a focus and tailor-made according to my own personal goals, which I like. I prefer to concentrate on learning songs and to experiment with a variety of genres. Josh helps me do that and he keeps things fun by mixing in improvisation sessions and technique development to bring me on and help me improve as a player." Pete

Sebastian is not only a skilled/experienced guitarplayer. He is a skilled/experienced teacher as well. A teacher needs to ideally excell at both compentencies and he definitly does. Apart from that he has a calm and positive energy which will make you feel relaxed and open to his teachings. If you are a beginner or a more advanced player looking to further improve your skills I highly recommend Sebastian. You will not regret it!

Pedro is really experienced and flexible teacher with a big repertoir and a variety of music styles. We focused on jazz guitar and learned standard compositions. Pedro was able to find good examples and songs for what I needed to learn and adjusted them for our lessons. It certainly boosted my jazz guitar skills and getting started with improvising.
