I’m Yasaman and I have Master’s in Music Education from the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague. Guitar for beginners. This is the course where you learn the basic guitar skills. I teach electric, classical and acoustic (folk, flatpicking) guitars, you can learn a mix of these similar yet very specific techniques or focus on the one of your preference. In electric and acoustic guitars the first challenges are pick control, hand coordination and left hand positions (and shifting them). With classical guitar the goal will be using the right hand fingers independently, including the thumb for the bass notes and the left hand will have similar challenges to the other guitars. In classical guitar we will be playing polyphonic pieces (several voices) more often, in electric we’ll focus on chords, riffs and solos and with the acoustic we’ll play also chords with different strumming patterns, melodies, solos and lots of flatpicking exercises. Intermediate to advanced levels. If you want to take your guitar playing more seriously, this is the course for you. After having some control over the basic guitar techniques you may want to take it a little further, improvising, building your own chord progressions and solos and having a next level technique to improve your playing. In Guitar 2 we’ll work with scales, arpeggios, improvising, different picking techniques, more sophisticated harmonies, new chord voicings and tips to play in a group context. We will play blues, jazz and more advanced rock solos and riffs to help you build a strong and confident musical language. One of the things I’ve been doing over the years is helping candidates to University music courses to get ready for their admission exams and getting the skills needed to begin this new step of their lives successfully. That’s something I really like to do.

Most people need to revise the basics of language over and over again in order to master it, and having a good knowledge of how the language works at its core, i.e. its grammar, will help improve one's language skills drastically. I think the best way of learning a language is by familiarizing yourself with it. I therefore like to conduct my lessons mainly in the target language. Moreover, I will tailor my lesson to the students' needs, a language has 4 core parts (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking), and each of us has different strong points and weaknesses when it comes to expressing ourselves in a second language. Hello! My name is Belemir, and I am a classical violinist living in Den Haag. I received my Master's degree from the Royal Conservatory in 2017 with the Orchestra Master specialization and my Bachelor's degree from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in Istanbul. My training has to lead me to pursue an exciting profession of diverse musical styles and settings which has allowed me to meet many wonderful new people and to share our music and ideas with each other. Now after many years of education and performing experience, I would like to also share what I have learned (and what I am still continuing to learn) with you! As a passionate educator, I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge and experience with others – I even find myself learning from my students at times! I am aware that everyone is unique, and every student has different needs and ways of learning. For beginner piano students, I use the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library and Suzuki Piano School. I can teach fluently in both English and Turkish as well as in some Dutch (improving all the time). I completed my Bachelor of Music in viola performance at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag with a minor in Music Education. At the same time, I have a certificate in teaching artistry from a certificate program called ‘The Global Leaders Program, where for my fieldwork assignment, I traveled to Chile and Jamaica and there I taught music intensively to kids who are underserved. I believe that a good teacher is one who is open to learning (because learning never stops) and who has experience in various situations. I am a very experienced teacher with an open mind and I am here to help you or your kid to learn an instrument in the most effective and fun way.
