A musical conversation: guitar lessons in SchiedamTranslate this text using Google Translate.

A musical conversation: guitar lessons in SchiedamTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Howdy! Offering guitar lessons and unsolicited life advice. About a decade ago I ran into something I still can't put into words. Describing it is like trying to taste a colour, but that is the point: music is older than words, and it gets to places language can't reach. For a lot of us it's a way out of overthinking and overstressing, a way back to the feeling. Try this: keep tapping tap-ta-ta-tap-ta-ta-tap-tap on the table while you describe the room around you, out loud or just in your head. Rhythm and words compete for the same space. When you play, you let rhythm win, and the monologue goes quiet. That's half of it. The other half, the feel, can't be explained with words: you'd have to come and pick up the instrument. The lessons themselves aren't esoteric. We learn pieces you like, figure out how they work, then make our own music with them. No fixed curriculum: music needs passion, and passion needs freedom. No audition, no talent test. I'm not out to turn anyone into a guitarist. I just think we'd all be better off with more music and less words, and one (musical) conversation is enough to get the idea. Come once and see if it clicks. Fancy espressos included, I'm a big fan of good bean juice. Lessons take place at my little studio in Schiedam, two stops from Rotterdam Centraal. Practising at your place or online is also an option. I've also built a platform for my students where you can book lessons, see lesson plans ahead of time and look up material. Keep calm, play light.

Private Vocal Classes in Traditional Turkish MusicTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Private Vocal Classes in Traditional Turkish MusicTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Turkish Music at Manisa Celal Bayar University in Turkey, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Musics at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam. I welcome students of all ages who would like to develop a healthy and effective singing technique. In my lessons, we work on using the voice in a healthy and efficient way, improving posture and body awareness, and developing better control and confidence while singing. I adapt my teaching approach to each student’s individual needs, level, and goals. For students who are interested in Traditional Turkish Music, I also introduce the musical characteristics and cultural background of this tradition. Turkish Music has unique features such as microtonal intervals and diverse rhythmic structures, and I aim to make these concepts accessible and enjoyable to learn. Depending on the student’s interests and needs, we can explore different vocal exercises, repertoire, musical concepts, and techniques during the lessons. While my main areas of expertise are singing and Traditional Turkish Music, I am also open to working with students in other related areas of music. I offer both private essons at your home and online lessons, so you can choose the option that works best for you.

Learn Italian from a Roman artist in Rotterdam - order your coffee like a proTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Learn Italian from a Roman artist in Rotterdam - order your coffee like a proTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past sixteen years, privately and at language schools including La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During our first two lessons, I’ll make sure you have the tools to pronounce and recognize all the sounds of Italian. This step is essential, and it makes everything that comes afterwards much easier. When I teach, I try to avoid all the things I hated as a language student. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad textbook ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of it is still carved into my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” So we won’t do that. We’ll use real songs and real literature. We’ll have real conversations, tell stories, improvise, and, when possible, go on “talking walks.” I find that when you engage more of your senses, it becomes easier to relax, stay curious, and actually remember new words. I customize my materials around your interests, needs, and desired pace. If you love cinema, we can work with films. If you’re interested in literature, politics, food, art, history, or simply being able to have a proper conversation when you’re in Italy, that can become part of the class. And because you’re learning with a native Italian, you’ll also learn about Italian culture, history, habits, gestures, contradictions, and ways of thinking. Language is never just a pile of grammar rules. I speak several languages myself, so I know both how exciting and how painfully tedious learning one can be. My aim is to give you a strong foundation without draining all the life out of it. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote my university thesis on translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden, and at one point I tried to ride a horse across America.

Everyone learns in a different way, so I try to find an approach that feels natural and enjoyable for you, rather than simply following the same method with everyone. I'm a patient and positive person, and I want the lessons to be a relaxed space where you can learn, ask questions and enjoy playing music. Lessons can take place at my place or at your home, depending on what works best for you. Whether you are just starting out, already play an instrument, or simply want to explore Greek or Ottoman music, feel free to send me a message. I'd be happy to hear what you are looking for and see how I can help. Moreover, if you are interested in this repertoire and you play another istryment, I can also teach the style and the specific ornamentation of it. Everyone is welcome, including complete beginners!

Learn Dutch in a short time - experienced coach (24 years of experience) State Exam NT2 trainer - inspired to teach Dutch to expatsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Learn Dutch in a short time - experienced coach (24 years of experience) State Exam NT2 trainer - inspired to teach Dutch to expatsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

A qualified language coach with 25 years of experience offers intensive Dutch lessons in a small class or online. I give many Dutch NT2 lessons to expats and in preparation for an integration exam. Specialized in guiding for the State Exam I and II. Special exam coach. In January 2025 I will also start with groups again. We have a great classroom in the center of Rotterdam, near metro station Beurs, lessons with small homogeneous groups (little difference in level). We mainly go for quality and not just running a lesson. I am really involved in the progress of the student. In addition to teaching, I want to do everything to really motivate students to take the next step. That is my strength! You can also choose the online lesson package with Whereby, Teams or Zoom in a comfortable way. Online classes are one-on-one or maximum one-on-two, for better results. My English is fluent, as well as Portuguese and Spanish. I understand the difficulties of overcoming barriers for Latin languages and for expats in general, as I have also been an expat. Online lessons last 75 minutes once a week for 10 weeks to reach a higher level. This is the normal speed. Including exam training (A-2 or Staatsexamen) and exam at the end. Intensive training ? That can also be done in five to ten full days, I am used to giving these very intensive trainings to CEOs or managers who want it faster and more intensive ... all lessons within 3 or 4 weeks. Based on the European system A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2 and C-1 As soon as students want to further improve their knowledge of Dutch, I always advise and coach them to take the State Exam I or II, the only formal Certificate in this country, recognized by employers and universities. I will try to switch to conversation after a few lessons, to put your knowledge into practice as soon as possible. Don't get too caught up in the grammar. Teaching is my ultimate passion and even after 25 years it feels like the first time and students always feel inspired to overcome the obstacles. I also teach you about Dutch social culture, which is intertwined in the course and is strongly related to the language.

Violin lessons for all levels: Technique, sound and expressionTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Violin lessons for all levels: Technique, sound and expressionTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Every student picks up the violin for a different reason — some want to finally play the piece they've always loved, others are preparing for a conservatory audition, and many are simply curious and want to see where the instrument takes them. Lessons here start from that goal, not from a fixed method: a hobbyist and a future professional need very different things, and the plan adjusts as progress happens. The core focus is classical technique — posture, bow control, intonation, and musical phrasing — built on training from some of the most respected names in the violin world today, including masterclasses with Olivier Charlier, Marc Danel, and Sarah Kapustin. Chamber music and orchestral playing are a particular strength, drawn from active experience performing in string quartets and symphony orchestras, so students preparing for ensemble playing or exams get guidance that comes from real stage experience, not just theory. The first lesson is relaxed and low-pressure: it's mainly about listening, watching how you already play (or, if you're a complete beginner, how you hold the instrument), and understanding what you want to get out of lessons. From there, the first few real lessons focus on solid fundamentals — a comfortable, sustainable technique from day one prevents bad habits later. Regular short practice between lessons matters far more than long, occasional sessions, and having a well-adjusted instrument (even a modest one) makes that daily practice much easier — advice on setup and equipment is always part of the conversation if needed. Behind the teaching is a violinist who recently finalized Master's degree in Classical Music Performance at Codarts Rotterdam under Gordan Nikolic and Goran Gribajcevic with highest marks, following a Bachelor's degree from the Conservatorio Superior de les Illes Balears. Teaching experience runs alongside an active performing career — including work as an academist with the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and as a member of a professional string quartet — so lessons stay grounded in what actually works on stage. Classes are available in English, Spanish, and Catalan.

Japanese Conversation & Culture with a Native Japanese Speaker — Travel, Life & BusinessTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Japanese Conversation & Culture with a Native Japanese Speaker — Travel, Life & BusinessTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Would you like to speak Japanese with a native Japanese speaker in a relaxed, friendly, and practical way? My lessons focus on real conversation rather than formal classroom-style learning. They are especially suitable for beginners and intermediate learners who want to feel more comfortable actually using Japanese. We can practice Japanese through topics that genuinely interest you, including everyday life, travel in Japan, Japanese food and culture, family life, business, entrepreneurship, and real estate in Japan. I have practical experience in business and real estate in Japan, so if these topics interest you, we can naturally include them in our conversations too. Don't worry about making mistakes. The goal isn't to make every sentence perfect. The goal is to speak, communicate, and enjoy using Japanese. Depending on your interests and goals, our conversations can include: • Everyday Japanese conversation • Japanese for traveling in Japan • Japanese culture, food, and daily life • Business and entrepreneurship in Japan • Real estate and living in Japan • Conversation with a native Japanese speaker Complete beginners are very welcome. A relaxed way to learn Japanese in Delft 🇯🇵 Lessons take place at JWH House in central Delft, in a relaxed home environment rather than a traditional classroom. We can sit comfortably in the living room with a cup of Japanese tea or coffee and practice Japanese through natural conversation. If you want to take notes, practice writing, or work through something more structured, we can of course use a table as well. Think of it less as sitting in a classroom and more as spending an hour in Japan — without leaving Delft. Come with your interests, questions, and curiosity about Japan. Let's enjoy speaking Japanese together! 🇯🇵☕

“ It is with the utmost admiration and gratitude that I extend my effulgent endorsement for David, the epitome of mathematical tutorship. His fervor for the subject and his pupils is steadfast, and David’s commitment to ensuring proficiency and comprehension is manifest in every tutorial session. His availability is most pliable, as he exhibits a constant readiness to alter his docket to accede to the necessities of his students. This adaptability is rare and precious quality, one that has played a seminal role in my time near the finals. Not only do he demonstrate devotion during his scheduled lessons time, for he is always approachable for additional guidance and support outside his hours. David’s unwavering dedication to the academic success of his students is truly remarkable and deeply appreciated by those who benefit from it. What distinguishes David is not solely his mastery in mathematics, but his amiable and cordial demeanour. He cultivates a genial and hospitable environment; and his pedagogy a harmonious blend of professionalism and conviviality. I consider myself fortunate to have availed myself of David’s instruction, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. In conclusion, if you seek a mathematics tutor, David Devidze should be your first port of call. His passion for the subject, commitment to his students, and affable personality makes him the ideal tutor for anyone seeking to enhance their mathematical understanding and aptitude. A true gem in the world of tutelage ”

“ Valentina has been my Italian teacher since February. Since then, I have made great progress in learning Italian! She uses a very good method/book which also allows you to work online. But the best thing is the personal interaction with her, which really makes the difference: the explanation of grammatical stuff, the correct pronouncation and which words to use when and also some background information about Italy and the Italian people. A very pleasant and effective teacher! Alexander ”
