Teaching music is teaching a new language. A language that must be learned in all its different forms (speaking/playing, listening, reading and writing) in order to be understood. One of my main interests as a piano teacher is to provide the students with the most possible instruments for their own development, in order to awaken in them the consciousness of being as they play their instrument. In the current experience, everything is moving ahead of you at a very fast pace and almost even digested. To come into contact with the art of playing the piano is to immerse yourself in the most beautiful experience of self-discovery while making music, in a bottomless sea of inner growth. Teaching is another form of communication, keeping traditions alive and giving life to the information by passing it on. My passion is to communicate through the language of music art, using it as a bridge to reach souls, the souls of tomorrow who will keep this tradition alive.

Learning languages is like opening windows on the world. And not only it is very enriching, but it is MUCH EASIER than one can imagine. With the right teacher-student relation, the right amount of interest and a useful and interactive method, any language can become very familiar to the learner in only a few sessions. It then builds up by practicing and applying the acquired knowledge to everyday-life, until the learners find themselves thinking in that language in some contexts. No ons speaks any language in absolute perfection. But there is a start to learning, and then developing the skills and understanding the language in question, in order to develop and carry on with a solid progression. It is a life time process that only gets more and more interesting. It ripes like a fruit. Plant the seed today! I will help you water it to a beautiful fruitful tree! Learning a language is one of the most altruistic and humanistic gymnastic you can initiate your brain to.

I am a English and French bilingual second year university student at Leiden University. Having attended both a French school and a British school I believe I would be well suited to aid students following such programs. Furthermore, I can encourage students to feel more comfortable with their foreign language use and help them reach their target grades. Finally, I am calm and stress-free but can also straightforward. I am a student at Leiden University bilingual in French and English. I think I can be a good candidate to help students from French or British schools since I was a student in both of these school systems. In addition, I will encourage the students to feel more comfortable with their foreign language. Ultimately, I am a calm person who knows how to be direct.

I am a recorder and classical singing student at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. I have experience with teaching the recorder to students aged 4 to 60 years old. My lessons are characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and I find it important to listen to the wishes of my students and adapt my lessons to their personal needs. For the younger students, I aim to teach a combination of recorder technique and posture, music theory and singing and stimulate their creativity in a playfull way. In this way they become acquainted with all aspects of music making. I also aim to incorporate ensemble playing in my lessons, together with me or with other students.

I have been teaching cello for over ten years. My students' levels have ranged from picking up the cello for the first time to preparing for auditioning to music conservatories at the college and pre-college level. I've worked with students as young as 5 years old as well as adults. I am a graduate of The Juilliard School, and have experience teaching at Juilliard Pre-College. I moved to The Netherlands in September of 2019 and have since then earned an Artist Certificate at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague in baroque cello. Teaching has been a huge part of my life as a performing musician, as it encourages a constant curiosity of showing others how to make music and enjoy music themselves through the cello.

I am a violin and piano teacher from Cape Town South Africa where I graduated with Honours in a Bachelor in violin performance from the University of Cape Town with distinction. Most recently I graduated from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (2021) with a Master's Degree in Music Education (specialising in violin). I have 7 years of violin teaching experience and 3 years of piano teaching experience. Most of my students have been young children but I have also had students of all ages, from children as young as three years old to adults who are in retirement. Attending Kodaly training at the conservatory has equipped me to teach from an auditory and songs based perspective, where singing is integrated into the instrumental lessons. I also use movement inside of lessons, as I have had some training inside of the Dalcroze eurhythmics approach. This approach sees movement as the embodiment of the music. I also actively incorporate elements of creativity in my teaching, for example creating improvisations, or making musical stories. In terms of my own experience in music, I have performed as a solo violinist with the orchestra as well as being an ad hoc tutti violinist for the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, and with the baroque violin for the Camerata Tinta Barocca and Cape Consort. I have performed with traditional African musicians and ensembles, as well as with dancers for instance in MusicDance021 which is an interdisciplinary real-time composition project.
