Singing lessons for all levels and age. For beginners, together we can discover the range of your voice and build the breathing and singing technique. At the same time we will work on music theory, ear training and how to read a score. For mature singers, we can delve into the singing technique and interpretation and add pieces in your repertoire. The lessons are provided both online and in person and can be held in English or Greek. I also speak some Italian and German. About me I have been playing the piano for 15 years. I have studied Classical Singing in the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata (Greece) and I have followed a two-year Early Music Programme in Athens Conservatoire. At the same time I studied Music Theory (Harmony) at the Greek National Conservatoire from which I gained my Harmony degree. In addition, I have a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Here in The Netherlands, I finished my masters at the Utrechts Conservatorium and worked as a singer at the NKK NXT 2022-2023. I have participated in Operas (“Julius Cesar”- 2015 in Athens Concert Hall and “Alcina”-2019 in Odeon of Herodes Atticus) as a member of a vocal ensemble and I have also performed as a soloist in many concerts. Some of the stages I have performed are: Concertgebouw Amsterdam, TivoliVredenburg, Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg, Athens Concert Hall, Greek National Opera and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

I am an experienced singer in jazz and popular music styles. Besides that I am a songwriter and arranger. I like to teach everyone in a personal way, that fits with your interests and talents. In the end I always apply different topics, such as singing technique, rhythm, songwriting, interpretation and presentation. * I like to teach you techniques and to give you tools that makes it easier to sing and to find your own sound. * Besides how to sing, I like to teach you about music, so you can apply your singing skills when you want to apply your musicality f.e. in a band, a choir etc. * I can teach you how to write songs, lyrics, melodies and chords. * I believe that interpretation and presentation are a big part of singing and also how they give you tools to sing better.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from beginners to more advanced. Classical training enables you to sing in any kind of way, so don’t hesitate and let’s sing!

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. No experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. I've sung with the Madrid Royal opera chorus and the Radio television in Spain and am an established International soloist in Baroque, opera and Contemporary music.
