I have received an ABRSM teaching diploma and therefore successfully completed the course to teach students from beginners- advanced. I'm a very patient and positive person and always try to encourage and support my students.

Hi, Let's learn and grow! My teaching encompasses a broad range of elements, from styles like pop, funk, blues and jazz to more specific techniques such as fingerstyle, experimenting with open tunings, improvisation, sound exploration and the creative use of guitar pedals. My lessons are open to all "levels"—from beginners taking their first steps to advanced musicians seeking to refine their artistry and push their creative boundaries. I have a lot of theory and teaching techniques that I learned at the coservatory to share and help you grow. Teaching at my space in utrecht and online.

I have been giving piano lessons to students of all ages and levels for almost 10 years. Learning the Piano can be fun, especially when it is designed to meet your individual needs. Based on your specific backround and knowledge we will create together a cource with the music you love, as well as music theory and technique to help you achieve your goals and express yourself throw music.

I am a professional classical pianist in the Netherlands working as a performer, accompanist, and piano teacher. I have bachelor's and master's degrees from the Conservatori Liceu in Barcelona and I'm actually taking my second master studies in HKU Conservatorium in Utrecht. I am very fond of teaching and have experience with people of all ages and levels. For kids, I prepare dynamic classes with different techniques, games, and approaches, so they can be a fun experience for them. It's very important for me to teach students the best tools for approaching music but mainly that they enjoy, learn, and have a good time. We build and talk about the lessons and goals together, always following your interests and dreams with music.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. Guitar Basics The guitar is a versatile and popular stringed musical instrument, widely used across genres like rock, pop, blues, classical, and more. Understanding the basics is essential for beginners to start playing and progress effectively. Here’s a concise overview: 1. Parts of the Guitar • Body: The main part, which amplifies sound in acoustic guitars or houses electronics in electric ones. • Neck: The long, thin section where the fretboard is located, used for pressing strings to form notes. • Fretboard: A flat surface with metal frets, dividing the neck into segments for different pitches. • Headstock: At the end of the neck, it holds the tuning pegs to adjust string tension. • Strings: Typically six, labeled (from thickest to thinnest) E (low), A, D, G, B, and E (high). • Bridge: Anchors the strings to the body, transferring vibrations to produce sound. 2. Types of Guitars • Acoustic: Produces sound naturally via the hollow body; ideal for folk, country, and classical. • Electric: Relies on an amplifier and pickups to produce sound; common in rock, jazz, and metal. • Classical: Features nylon strings, suited for classical and fingerstyle playing. • Bass: A four-string variant for lower pitches, used to anchor rhythm and harmony. 3. Tuning Standard tuning for a six-string guitar is E-A-D-G-B-E. Use a tuner (electronic or app-based) to adjust each string’s pitch by turning the tuning pegs. A properly tuned guitar ensures notes and chords sound correct. 4. Basic Techniques • Holding the Guitar: Sit with the guitar resting on your dominant leg (right leg for right-handed players), keeping the neck slightly tilted upward. For electric, a strap allows standing. • Fretting: Press strings down on the fretboard with your fingertips (left hand for right-handed players) to change notes. Use light but firm pressure just behind the fret. • Strumming/Picking: Use a pick or fingersਸ System: your fingers to strum or pluck the strings with your right hand. Start with simple patterns. 5. Chords and Notes • Chords: Combinations of notes played together. Beginners often start with open chords like C, G, D, A, and E, using multiple fingers to press strings. • Notes: Single pitches, found by pressing a string on a specific fret. Practice simple scales like the major or minor pentatonic.

In Fundamentals of Music Theory, students will start from the very beginning of music theory, and learn the core foundations required to read music. Topics covered in this course include but are not limited to: reading the staff, identifying notes, identifying key signatures, understanding time signatures, music vocabulary, and more. This is a great class for anyone wanting to get into music, singing, performing, or playing an instrument.
