Piano and Music Theory Lessons for children and adults (beginners, advanced)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Piano and Music Theory Lessons for children and adults (beginners, advanced)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Learning how to play an instrument can fall into many classroom stereotypes; Not if you strive to discover sounds and styles, if you're open to learning not only an instrument but all that is related to music and sound making! I've taught at different institutes and private lessons for +5 years; then slowly began to put together my own method of teaching not only piano, but related subjects to help students gain a broader knowledge and be able to take next steps in their music journey even when they're finished with their music lessons. With all the experience I gathered in working with children and adults, I've composed a method of teaching subjects related to piano performance(music theory, music history, improvisation and creative music composing) alongside lessons on the instrument and piano techniques, as the student proceeds and is in need of more broad knowledge. It doesn't matter wether the student is a pupil or an adult, if they have experience in music or not, there's always a lot to discover together in my lessons; based on the students needs and interests. I usually start with basics of the instrument and give students a general lesson on how the instrument works. As we proceed in our lessons, we will cover techniques and more specific skills based on the interest of the student. Our lessons are very flexible regarding class material and my aim is to keep the lessons always fun and informative as well as following the bigger aim of helping the student to be confidant in their music performing and music creation. The format of our lessons will not stay the same as we work on different pieces, different skills and subjects. There are certain repertoire we will cover but also some of the pieces the student likes to be able to play and understand. We will also work on performing skills, I often organise mini concerts for students that like to overcome their fear of performing on stage or for others, giving them the opportunity to perform their own pieces or from classic piano repertoire.

Brazilian guitar - The Right hand approach of Baden Powell and Toquinho (SHORT-TERM lessons)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Brazilian guitar - The Right hand approach of Baden Powell and Toquinho (SHORT-TERM lessons)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Baden Powell and Toquinho are two of the most important guitar legends in the Brazilian music history. Together with Vinicius de Moraes, Tom Jobim, João Gilberto, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, João Bosco, Elis Regina, etc. They made the history of Brazilian music. In this short-term lesson, I will focus on the right hand approach of the great Baden Powell and Toquinho. Baden's right hand technique has always been discussed that it was too mysterious. If you go on YouTube to check any Cover version or even Transcription of his tunes, you will never see someone who can reproduce his technique. It's simply because it is very complicated if you don't know the principle. By directly studying from Baden's only student, his son - the great Marcel Powell. I'm approved by Marcel, and would love to share his father approach. Toquinho right hand technique for comping After the death of Vinicius de Moares, Toquinho gradually changed the way of his accompanying into a style which involved an exclusive approach of one finger strumming. It has become almost the only approach he is using nowadays. It is also a very exclusive technique you rarely see other use except Toquinho. *Note that. There are many other ways to play Brazilian music.

Piano/Keyboard Lessons in the HagueTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Piano/Keyboard Lessons in the HagueTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Piano Lessons in The Hague Learning to play the piano is not only an incredibly useful skill but also an enjoyable and fulfilling process. The instrument can be a gateway to understanding and experiencing music, which is why I believe the piano should be made available to everyone. Children and Adults If you have a child or know someone who has developed an interest in learning the piano, you'd like to learn it as a second instrument, or you are a working professional who just fancies trying something new, I'd be happy to get you started on your musical journey. What to expect? You can learn how to read music, understand simple music theory, play simple chords and scales, develop your own creativity, and can focus on playing some classical/jazz/pop pieces and even work towards taking online performance exams. I will develop enjoyable lessons tailored specifically to you. Making the first steps In the beginning, the piano can be very overwhelming! I take a lot of time on the basics as there is always a lot to learn and take in. I use a variety of beginner method books and resources to help you build your confidence in understanding the piano itself, developing your coordination skills, learning to understand the musical notes on the page, developing your musical ear, and understanding basic music theory. Jazz - Pop - Classical After having covered the basics of piano playing, theory, and reading skills, many of my students move on to playing classical, jazz, blues, or pop pieces, practicing scales and finger exercises as well as further strengthening their sight-reading skills. Improvising Or if you perhaps wish to get away from notes written down on the page I can help you develop your own creativity by understanding theory and applying it to chordal playing, composing and improvising, and playing by ear. Practical Lessons From the age of 12, I had classical piano lessons and have always studied the piano as a secondary instrument to the trumpet. I continue to play piano as a hobby and during my studies at the conservatory, I developed an interest in jazz piano playing. You can therefore feel confident that no matter what your interest may be (perhaps you haven't figured this one out yet), I can give you high-quality fun, and enjoyable training in your own interests. No Piano yet? There are a lot of options and things to consider when working out how to get hold of or buy a keyboard/piano which can be confusing and sometimes stressful! I am happy to give advice to ensure the choice you make is right for you. Online Lessons For the last couple of years, I have been teaching lots of students online. Many have found this way not only to be very suitable but actually their preferred style of learning. Sometimes nothing can be better and simpler than learning in the comfort of your own home. As a teacher, I often find the best solution is a mix of both online and live lessons. We can experiment and find the best solution for you. Lesson Location I live in The Hague and teach from my apartment on a Yamaha Acoustic Upright and Electric piano. I'm pretty flexible, so if you're pushed for time or need to work out a better solution, I am happy to travel to another location close by if it's convenient! Get in touch If any of the above sparks your interest for you or a family member, or perhaps you feel like gifting someone you know with some piano lessons, please do get in touch.

Piano Lessons - all ages and levels - Graduated pianist with concert and teaching experienceTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Hello! I'm a 25-year-old pianist finishing his Master's degree in Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag. I have ample experience as a teacher, and performing as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestra keyboardist, and accompanist. I have been teaching since 2018 and love working with people of all kinds of music tastes. I will adapt to your musical interests and help you accomplish your objective. On top of a piano teacher, I am a great piano coach, being able to help my students get where they want with the piano, even if they struggle with motivation to practice. I am easygoing, and I adapt to your expectations and rhythm, so we can work together in fulfilling your goals! In my lessons, you will: - Learn how to understand a score, with all the theoretical knowledge you need to approach the repertoire that you want to study. - Learn how to practice the piano. Ever tried and struggled to focus or to develop as much as you wanted? I can help you with that. - Learn to play the repertoire you want, with a step-by-step process that helps you develop more ability and security - Learn the piano technique - Learn how to enjoy music making! :) For the more medium and advanced students, I also offer: - Deep understanding of styles. I have done research on baroque and classical styles, and have studied with romantic, XXth century, and contemporary music experts, which has given me deep knowledge on how to understand the different styles of Classical Music. - Advanced practice technique. Sometimes, the more you advance in the instrument, the harder practice can become. Know how to practice difficult technical passages and musical ideas. - Sound control. Even if the sound in the piano might seem limited, it is not, it can simply be difficult to control. But it is the most important quality of a musical performance, alongside style. - Great support. I will help you find motivation and organize your practice. I also am a great support teacher. If you or your child is already studying in an institution and you want some extra help, I have always been able to help students who have found themselves improperly motivated by their main teacher, or who want help practicing. Music is fun! Let's learn together.

My review of Joy's lesson is that he is not only fantastic at his guitar playing but also an enthusiastic teacher that will teach everything you want to know, solve your doubts, and, more importantly, help you to get closer to your musical goal. In my own opinion, he is a patient and amicable teacher that would not mind if I was making mistakes in his class. Instead, he encouraged me and guided me through my mistakes, and provided solutions accordingly to my problems. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend Joy to all students who want to learn more about jazz guitar to participate in his class because he could really help you to improve.

I’ve really enjoyed learning with Clara. She is patient, clear, and encouraging, which makes every lesson both productive and enjoyable. I’ve learned a lot about bowing techniques, and she explains them in a way that feels easy to understand and apply. She also introduces me to new songs that are both fun and challenging, helping me grow step by step. I appreciate her attention to detail and how she always gives practical tips to improve my playing. Overall, Clara creates a supportive atmosphere that motivates me to keep progressing with the cello. Thanks Clara!

Really enjoyed going to lessons with Yiannis. Not only did I become a better player but I was also more motivated to play the trombone. A very good trombone teacher and I would recommend him to any trombone player at any skill level!
