I teach cello for all ages and levels, at your home, by webcam or in my apartment in Roubaix. I have over ten years of experience teaching music in the UK and France. I love helping people discover music through the cello, and sharing my passion for connecting with others and helping them grow through music.

As a cellist, I have performed extensively in orchestral, solo and chamber music, and I am also a composer, singer and pianist. I studied at the Royal Conservatoire in Birmingham, UK, and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Netherlands, and moved to France in 2023.

My teaching is based on fun, freedom and exploration. We can try singing, body percussion, composing your own piece, music theory exercises, creating our own games, and so on. I have experience teaching technical principles, but my philosophy focuses on fun and freedom, which I believe is the basis from which good technique should develop.

This course is designed to build skills in either playing the cello, music theory, ear training, or all three! If you are seeking to learn cello this course is a great place to start. I am most familiar with the suzuki books, however I am dedicated to making cello and music as widely available as I can, so if access to sheet music is a challenge I am open to pursuing alternate lesson plans.
If you are a current music student who isn't seeking to learn cello but would like support in Music Theory or Aural Skills (also often referred to as Ear Training), I am more than happy to provide tutoring in those subjects.
