Online Violin lessons to improve technique, enjoy music and give confidence to yourself
From 67 C$ /h
The violin is an enjoyable instrument to learn from. It has seen many uses within all genres of music. To learn the techniques might seem redundant, but patients and practice go a long way. Here you will be learning about tips, guidance and general skills vital to improve technique and to become comfortable with playing the violin. Music theory will be somewhat incorporated into the lessons, giving better understanding of the structure of the music. Body posture is another critical element to play the violin. Slouching causes tension and harder playing level. By readjusting and getting in the correct posture, it will cover the majority of finger positions, shifting, and performance to play violin efficiently. I focus on classical style violin, but I’m also exposing myself towards gypsy jazz, jazz, klezmer, folk, bluegrass, and world music. If you have a song that you have a desire to play, please let me know.

About Me
I am a humorist and seek to make music enjoyable for all. I am a people person that can easily relate to others experiences. When I teach music, I emphasize on developing technique at a your own pace. It might seem redundant to take things over time, but patience and practice goes a long way. We would be able to incorporate some music theory behind phrasing and length of passages. That will show the overall shape of where the music goes to. Based on the year of the piece, we would have to consider the technique used at that time. Bowing patterns are a nice way of knowing how much to separate each note, or how to connect each note seamlessly. The posture of the upper body is the most crucial elements of playing violin. If someone were to slouch, they’d have more tension in the shoulders, the arm and the finger. It’s important that having a more broad posture will release most of the tension and provide greater handle of violin technique.
Education
I currently study at Temple University, for a degree in music therapy. This program is a mixed experience and gives the full breadth of different perspectives within music therapy. I have attended this school since Spring 2018.
Experience / Qualifications
I have played the violin for over 12 years, since the fourth grade. Over the years, I have taken up private lessons from various teachers. I have also performed in elementary, middle, high school, and cool leg level orchestras. For middle and high school, I was involved with state and local level solo and ensemble festivals. In the summer of 2014, I was at Florida State University for a two week music intensive program. Currently, I’m the Vice President of Owlchestra, a community orchestra based at Temple University for non-music majors.
