About Me

I graduated from Walter Vestidello with honors at the "A. Steffani" Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto (Italy). My interest in early music led me to Marco Testori at the "Universität Mozarteum" in Salzburg, where I graduated with a top grade in baroque cello. I am currently enrolled at the "Schola Cantorum Basiliensis" in Basel with Christophe Coin in the master's program for music education.

As an instrumentalist, I work with numerous ensembles and orchestras: Accademia Bizantina (recording for the Naive label), Il Pomo d'Oro, Venice Baroque Orchestra (with Franco Fagioli), Fondazione Pietà de 'Turchini (recording for the Outhere Music label), Camerata Bachiensis, L'arsenale (ensemble for contemporary music).

Together with the violinist Claudio Rado and other musicians, I founded the "Contrarco Baroque Ensemble", which plays 17th and 18th century music on original instruments according to historical performance practice. With this ensemble I was invited to the "Risonanze Festival 2017", the "Alte Musik Live Berlin 2019" and the "Urbino Musica Antica 2019".

I also studied jazz harmony and improvisation with Saverio Tasca and have been playing since
2014 in the jazz quintet "Saverio Tasca & AlterArco" (marimba and string quartet), with which I recorded the album "L'uomo che cammina" for the Velut Luna label.

My name is Clara and I'm a cellist, teacher, and performer in Basel. Where do I come from musically?

It has always been important to me to explore all the possibilities my instrument offers. And to be honest, I'm not finished yet; the cello has so many facets to discover! I've already tried many different styles. I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Music at the Basel Academy of Music in 2025. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Artistic Pedagogy in Freiburg. This gives me a solid foundation for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for unlocking the creativity of my students.

Can you also find me on stage?

Yes, mostly with my jazzy indie-pop band "Partiprivati". We write our own songs and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :)

But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women.

Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance.

And always with solo performances at vernissages.
