A neuroscientist-guided fun yoga class with dance and vocal-sound meditation for children to achieve peak performance in daily life
From 25 C$ /h
An engineer-neuroscientist from McGill University, experienced in yoga, meditation and Indian classical dance; teaches fun yoga with dance and nada (vocal sound) meditation; provides free tips on brain science for focus and concentration.
As a computer science engineer (postgraduated from one of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technolgoy in India) turned neuroscientist (PhD from McGill University) with extensive experience in science, maths, technology, research, physical and mental health, my goal is to infuse the findings of research to the young minds at an early age. These findings relate to maintaining the health while working towards achieving best performance in academia, sports, or any other activities. For some students, maths may be an enemy and literature is a friend, for others,it may be different. For some, memorization task may be difficult while others may adopt "contextual strategy" to learn fast. But little do we know and/or consider in our daily lives how to train our brain and mind to enhance memory without peer/parental/school/ etc... pressure on children. This is where I come in. I help children to use their weaknesses to develop a growth mindset.
-Teaching methods: customized according to student's needs, ability to comprehend, and study-level
-Typical plan: warmup exercise, hatha-yoga asanas, fun yoga-dance, meditation (breathing, concentration, sound). Once in a while, steps from Indian classical dance and music and memory games to improve memory and prevent boredom.
-Why me?- As a neuroscientist, I use neuroscience research findings to teach and practice with fun; i provide free theoretical knowledge too. I practice these lessons for my own benefit too.
Lessons for: school children grades 4 to 10 (the earlier a child starts these practices, the better they are)
