Botanical Cyanotype Workshop for Children — Create Beautiful Blue Prints

In this creative hands-on session, children can explore leaves, flowers and photographic negatives, compose their own designs, and watch as sunlight transforms them into unique blue prints.

I am an Art Historian experienced in teaching both children and adults at schools and art galleries. The focus is to show the uniqeness of every artistic period in Europe and challenge students to distinguish the differences between styles.

The course will not only consist of a theoretical part, but also a practical one where students will learn how to paint using a baroque light and techniqe.

I am a practicing artist with an BA and MA in Fine Arts by L'Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs and by the Sandberg Instituut.

My course focuses on giving the students the tools and knowledge necessary for applying to Art School or for funding for more specific projects.

I will help you develop a portfolio and guide in the development of the work by analysing with you conceptually and formally. We will engage in a conversation that provides the student with a better understanding of the body of work being produced and presented.

The course structures differently depending on the needs of the student, and can range from exercises in theory, practice, translation, synthesis and experimentation, as well as working on presentation and discourse.

My practice is specific to sculpture, installation, performance, and space design and can provide insight and tools in these mediums very precisely, but of course we will not be restricted to these as a pluridisciplinary artist. I have a large studio near Oosterpark with many tools and space for creation and experimentation if necessary. Available in the studio: ceramic tools and kiln, metal tools, wood tools, mold making and casting, and many other.

The course proposes a methodology from concept, writing, and experimentation, to execution, collaboration and presentation, necessary for a contemporary artist in todays art ecosystem. We will work with context as well: visiting works, museums, galleries and spaces run for and by artists in todays contemporary environment.

I have successful experience with the application system for project funding and juried interviews that we can focus on depending on the needs of the student.

I conduct very different classes for children as well, in which we focus on material expression and the exploration of formal grammars, learning techniques through intuitive processes and translating the children's narratives and energy into material gestures.

My classes are designed through collaborations when it comes to experimentations or intersected fields and mediums, which is an option and pertinent characteristic of approach.

Classes are applicable to students who are 16+ of all levels .
Personal Portfolio Class:
If you are considering applying for art school or design school, you might want to prepare yourself and build a convincing portfolio, perhaps improve your presentation skill or even some confidence boost for interviews.
We will first explore what talents you already have and those you will want/need to have, the goal is to help you develop your creativity and curiosity as well as your artistic skills and most importantly find out your inner talent for a direction that will suit you, whether in education or self-development. And we will do a live rehearsal for your interview for the best presentation result and confidence boost. Overall, It'll help you cultivate the soft and hard skills you need to be more confident setting and resetting expectations, strengthening relationships, and taking your projects across the finish line without any cold sweat.

For teenagers: are highly encouraged to experiment with different materials and techniques and preferably through themes - selected by me or the student's likings as well. We will also look at specific Artists and Painters, as well as specific Art History periods, and the kids will then be encouraged to play around and recreate their own version of the Artist or period. Needless to say that class do not necessarily mean free-time activity, the academic material is intentionally or not(unconsciously) always a present element of my instructive performance. Therefore, the game becomes a teaching/learning relation, whilst teaching and learning turn into a recreational joyful moment for all participants.

Does your kid love to draw? Encouraging and assisting the development of artistic skills and expression might be a great way to help them have fun, develop a hobby and even spend some time off the screen.
I offer individual tutoring and in small groups (welcome, brothers, and sisters!), and this is how it works:

Hello, I am Marcela a multidisciplinary artist with BA in Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Queretaro, Mexico. I have also done an exchange of 6 months to learn about sophisticated art methods at the Faculty of Fine Arts - University of Granada, Spain. Additionally, to deepen my skills, I took two courses on drawing and painting at Crea, Amsterdam.
In this course I will teach the basis of drawing and painting. Regarding drawing, I will teach the principles of sketching, moving forward to the specifics of light and shadow. During the drawing classes, you will also learn about different techniques, such as pastels, charcoal, and graphite. With respect to painting, you will learn about theory of colour, how to design a colour palette, and how to apply it. Next, you will learn about the specificities of materials, such as acrylics, watercolour and oils. You will then be able to experiment with these materials, and at the end create your own artwork based on your preferences.

I can teach you the basics of drawing such as perspective and shading. As for painting, i can show you whole the process of oil painting starting by fixing the canvas on a frame, bedmaking, isolation and painting itself. I can show you the basic methods of watercolor as well.

From woodwork I can let you know how to work with chisel, drawknife and how to sharp these tools well.

As an experienced artist and art educator in the form of Painting Workshops at Treehouse NDSM, I offer a unique approach to art education. My background in art studies at HKU, a year of Psychology at UvA, and the rich teaching experiences of my family form the foundation of my teaching method. I can also provide information more focused on the art practice, building your own business. In today's times, this gives many self-taught artists the opportunity to set up an art practice through the internet and entrepreneurial skills, with an online shop selling (limited-edition or open-edition) prints of their paintings or drawings, and amazingly, many artists are able to earn a decent income this way, with some going viral on platforms like Instagram and suddenly becoming world-famous. This is not something that happens quickly or often, but it does represent a significant shift in the Contemporary Art World, which previously was much harder to establish your own business and art practice, making the artist much more dependent on representation by a Gallery.

My lessons focus on (re)discovering the joy of making art. I believe that every individual has a unique creative process, and that in art, there is no right or wrong. With my extensive knowledge of people, I can tailor guidance and coaching to meet the needs and interests of each student. Whether it's about building an impressive portfolio, exploring pre-courses, or navigating the choices of art academies and directions, I'm ready to share my expertise. Painting has been always my passion since childhood and even perusing my study in medicine could not stop me from learning this passion. Now I would love to share my experience with other painting lovers by teaching watercolor techniques. While drawing skills are highly appreciated, for beginners with no painting/drawing experience my courses can be useful and by the end of each course students can have a piece of art made by themselves!

I've been teaching painting and drawing for five years, both in private lessons and groups. I'm also a self-taught artist, so I know how exciting (and sometimes frustrating!) learning art can be. I've made plenty of mistakes myself, and I know what it's like to be a student. That's why I don't believe in one method for everyone. I like to get to know my students, listen to what they want to achieve, and make each lesson feel personal, relaxed and enjoyable while helping them grow as artists!

ABOUT THE CLASS:

Do you have a character in your head, a story you’ve been thinking about, or simply an urge to draw and wonder what might happen if you turned it into a comic?

In this class, we’ll explore how to develop your ideas into sequential form. We’ll work on drawing skills, character development, composition, page layouts, pacing, and the relationship between images and text. We’ll also look at inspiring examples from comics, graphic novels, and art history.
Depending on your interests, we might create a short comic, develop a character or story, or begin working towards a longer project. You don’t need to have a finished story, or even know exactly what you want to make. We can start small, experiment with ideas, and build towards a larger project.

There are no specific requirements regarding materials. We can work with pencil and paper, ink, color, or digital tools. If you would like to work digitally, you will need to bring your own laptop and software; there are many excellent open-source and inexpensive options available.

I am a lifelong comics lover, as well as an artist, architect, and published comic book author. My background in architecture helps me create convincing worlds, environments, and backgrounds, while my professional experience in animation has given me a good understanding of timing and pace. Hosted by Artists and art historians Tonny and Janne Igbuwe. They will take you on a sensory journey through history, intimacy and artistry.
You'll be invited into the Artist's studio (decorated like the chosen painting to the best of our ability) where you'll be received with a drink and a small appetizer.
During the workshop, you will not only learn about painting techniques and portraiture, but we'll also explain the history behind the painting you'll be recreating. A spectacularly romantic experience to never forget.

We start with basic techniques, shadows, proportions then we can make still lifes, portraits and even compositions.
I work as a museum teacher in various museums, including The Rembrandt House and the Hermitage. I am involved in a broad educational offer for various groups and individuals: from students in groups 4, 5 and 6 to gymnasium students and adults interested in culture and history. I'm a visual artist working across different mediums, from more classical forms like drawing and painting to multimedia practices such as video and performance.

I graduated from a high school of art and design in France, continued my studies at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva HEAD, and I'm currently finishing a specialization in choreography at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.

I'm offering a series of personalized art classes that can focus on various mediums, whether you're looking to explore new artistic tools, prepare for entrance exams to art schools, or simply nurture your curiosity. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Here are three class options to start with:

Sketching and Drawing
Learn the basics of observational drawing and graphic composition. We can focus on a specific subject or go on walks to observe and draw what we see in our surroundings.

Video
An introduction to video basics and editing software. We’ll explore how to use cameras in a raw, intuitive way and understand the logic behind lighting and other technical tools.

Art School Preparation
Guidance in building a portfolio, formatting and laying out documents, and exploring different printing techniques. Ideal for those preparing to apply to art schools or looking to expand their artistic practice.

Painting has been always my passion since childhood and even perusing my study in medicine could not stop me from learning this passion. Now I would love to share my experience with other painting lovers by teaching watercolor techniques. While drawing skills are highly appreciated, for beginners with no painting/drawing experience my courses can be useful and by the end of each course students can have a piece of art made by themselves!

Let me show you how creative you already are! In this class we will explore creativity through engaging exercises, imagination challenges, games, storytelling, observation, and experimentation. The goal isn’t to become an artist – it’s to strengthen curiosity, confidence, flexible thinking, and the ability to generate new ideas.

Suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, these sessions are adapted to each person’s age, interests, and goals. Whether you’re looking to nurture a child’s imagination, reconnect with your own creativity, or simply try something new, you’ll find a supportive space to explore without pressure or judgment.

No previous experience is required – only curiosity 😊

I've been teaching painting and drawing for five years, both in private lessons and groups. I'm also a self-taught artist, so I know how exciting (and sometimes frustrating!) learning art can be. I've made plenty of mistakes myself, and I know what it's like to be a student. That's why I don't believe in one method for everyone. I like to get to know my students, listen to what they want to achieve, and make each lesson feel personal, relaxed and enjoyable while helping them grow as artists!

ABOUT THE CLASS:

Do you have a character in your head, a story you’ve been thinking about, or simply an urge to draw and wonder what might happen if you turned it into a comic?

In this class, we’ll explore how to develop your ideas into sequential form. We’ll work on drawing skills, character development, composition, page layouts, pacing, and the relationship between images and text. We’ll also look at inspiring examples from comics, graphic novels, and art history.
Depending on your interests, we might create a short comic, develop a character or story, or begin working towards a longer project. You don’t need to have a finished story, or even know exactly what you want to make. We can start small, experiment with ideas, and build towards a larger project.

There are no specific requirements regarding materials. We can work with pencil and paper, ink, color, or digital tools. If you would like to work digitally, you will need to bring your own laptop and software; there are many excellent open-source and inexpensive options available.

I am a lifelong comics lover, as well as an artist, architect, and published comic book author. My background in architecture helps me create convincing worlds, environments, and backgrounds, while my professional experience in animation has given me a good understanding of timing and pace. I look forward to exploring this amazing medium further with you!
