Hello, hi :)
I'm Mia, your future private art tutor if you're interested!

I'm a visual artist working across different mediums, from more classical forms like drawing and painting to multimedia practices such as video and performance.

I graduated from a high school of art and design in France, continued my studies at the School of Fine Arts in Geneva HEAD, and I'm currently finishing a specialization in choreography at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam.

I'm offering a series of personalized art classes that can focus on various mediums, whether you're looking to explore new artistic tools, prepare for entrance exams to art schools, or simply nurture your curiosity. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Here are three class options to start with:

Sketching and Drawing
Learn the basics of observational drawing and graphic composition. We can focus on a specific subject or go on walks to observe and draw what we see in our surroundings.

Video
An introduction to video basics and editing software. We’ll explore how to use cameras in a raw, intuitive way and understand the logic behind lighting and other technical tools.

Art School Preparation
Guidance in building a portfolio, formatting and laying out documents, and exploring different printing techniques. Ideal for those preparing to apply to art schools or looking to expand their artistic practice.

Feel free to reach out with questions or specific interests. I'm happy to adapt the classes to your needs.
Extra information
The tools and materials used will depend on the needs and curiosity of each student. The proposition is to work in whichever medium interests them, as a way to respond to the task. It is recommended to have a notebook with blank (unlined) pages, along with basic materials such as pencils and black ink pens.

My students range in levels from beginners who are new to learning English, to fluent English speakers that need support or would like to further excel or maintain their fluency. Based on my experiences, I have learned to adjust my teaching style based on different students' needs, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, and learning abilities.

Whether that be learning English for the first time or practicing improvement of speaking, reading, comprehension, pronunciation, listening, writing, grammar, etc. Lessons can be aimed towards learning a topic such as food, animals, sports, emotions, and more.

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer with fifteen years of experience. I studied art and architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Columbia University in New York. I teach painting, drawing, digital image and creativity. This class is ideal for beginners but also intermediate students who want to develop their own style.

For my personal projects, I work in a wide range of mediums, from drawing, painting and printmaking to digital image and 3D Printing. When teaching, I prefer to first focus on free-hand drawing and painting as this allows for greater spontaneity regardless of the student's technical level. We later explore other methods based on the student's individual interests. I like to teach children and adults via mini projects involving art history references and help them develop narratives around their work. I deeply believe in people's creative potential and in my classes will help you channel your own voice.

Welcome to a new approach to painting, where traditional techniques merge with contemporary artistic expression. I'm Naomi , an experienced visual artist, here to guide you on a journey to discover your own style and painting process.

In the world of painting, there's a misconception that technique is something old-fashioned, reserved for realistically replicating the world around us. I invite you to let go of this notion and join me in exploring how contemporary painters, including abstract artists, use technique to create unique and powerful works.

My lessons are designed for adults who want to look beyond traditional painting courses. We'll start with exercises that encourage free expression, almost in a childlike manner, without focusing on the end result. This process often reveals unexpected talents and leads to authentic artistic discoveries.

I strongly believe in recognizing and developing each student's unique qualities. With me, you'll learn not just the techniques applied by contemporary artists, but also how to use them to find and refine your own artistic voice. There's no such thing as good or bad art; the biggest barriers are often fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Together, we'll overcome these obstacles, with enjoyment in the creative process as our guide.

By the end of the course, you'll leave with a painting that reflects the quality of professional work, created with materials that aren't necessarily expensive, but are essential for serious work in today's art world. I'll provide the materials for the first lesson; afterwards, students will be encouraged to purchase their own.

Whether you're looking for individual guidance or prefer learning in a group setting, I offer both personal and group lessons. Group lessons have a fixed structure, while individual guidance is completely tailored to your desires and talents.

Are you ready to elevate your painting skills to a new level and develop your own style that resonates with the contemporary art world? Join my course and let your creativity flow.

I offer personalized Turkish and English language tutoring focused on real communication, confidence, and individual learning goals. My teaching style is flexible, attentive, and adapted to each student rather than strictly following a textbook structure.

I have experience working only with adult students. I have taught English to private students in a friendly and productive setting, and I currently teach Turkish to a director at International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). These experiences helped me develop a teaching approach that is both structured and personal.

For every student, I:
Prepare lessons individually according to their needs, interests, and level
Keep detailed notes of recurring mistakes and areas that need improvement
Revise and adjust the course plan weekly based on progress
Focus on speaking, comprehension, grammar, pronunciation, and natural usage together

1 hour
1.5 hours

Lessons can be held:
Online
In person around Amsterdam

My approach is especially suitable for students looking for a more adaptive, engaging, and needs-based learning experience rather than a rigid textbook format.

Everyone is talking about AI. Most people are still just typing into ChatGPT and hoping for the best.
This class is for professionals, creatives, and curious people who want to actually understand how AI works — and use it as a real tool in their work. Not prompt tricks. Not another subscription app. Real, practical literacy that gives you control.
I've spent 15+ years building machine learning infrastructure at scale — recommendation systems, ranking models, large-scale data pipelines — at companies including Booking.com. I now run my own AI systems locally, build agents that automate real workflows, and teach governance frameworks to organisations navigating AI adoption. I know both the engineering side and the human side of this technology.
What we cover — tailored to your situation:

How AI models actually work (without the math) — what they can and can't do, and why
How to use AI tools effectively in your specific profession or creative practice
How to evaluate AI output critically — spotting hallucinations, bias, and overconfidence
What "running your own AI" means and whether it makes sense for you
Automation: how to build simple AI workflows that save you real time
AI governance basics: what the EU AI Act means for your work, your organisation, or your clients

Who this is for:
Professionals who work with or alongside AI tools and want to understand what they're actually dealing with. Creatives, freelancers, small business owners, managers, researchers. Anyone who feels like they're falling behind and wants to get genuinely ahead.
Not for: Developers looking for a coding bootcamp. This is literacy and applied use, not engineering.
Taught in: English (Dutch available)
Format: 1-on-1, sessions structured around your actual work and questions — not a generic slide deck
You'll need: A laptop and a specific context you want to apply AI to. The more concrete your situation, the more useful the session.

Create a comfortable and motivating learning environment

Classes take place once a week on a fixed day and time, and can be either:
1 hour
