Myself, I have been studying with Prof. Viviane Spanoghe in Brussels Royal Conservatorium and I was perfecting my cello playing under the watchful eye of recognized musicians such as prof. Michael Flaksman, prof. Jeroen Reuling, prof. Arto Noras, prof. Alexander Gebert, prof. Olsi Leka, prof. Denis Severin and others.
I obtained a Master Degree in Cello Performance Diploma with great distinction at Koninklijk Conservatory Brussels and I have a wide experience as an orchestral and chamber musician. I am an experienced tutor prepared to teach at all levels of education from primary up to conservatoire level. I completed teacher prep programme and earned an official teacher certificate.

My name is Marie, I am 28 years old and I graduated from a Masters in cello at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. The cello is my passion, my profession, my life companion. I have been teaching for several years. I have at heart to transmit my interest for this instrument; this is why I continue to train within the conservatory.

I spent a year in Denmark for a master's degree in education. An exciting year in a country where empathy is given a major role in teaching and where learning is based on the latest discoveries in neuroscience. I would like to evolve as a teacher by feeding on the pedagogies of the Nordic countries.

Beginners, intermediates, advanced, I adapt to the age and needs of each. Playing a musical instrument requires a lot of concentration and involvement. I want to bring this taste for rigor, which is not opposed to fun or creativity, while respecting the rhythm of each student.

Currently I'm studying my Master's degree on cello performance in Brussels after obtaining my Bachelor's with high distinction. I offer lessons to both beginners and those already acquainted with cello. In addition I offer music theory, ear training and harmony lessons. I'm friendly with children and can get them started in either general music education to prepare them for instrument studies later on or alternatively guide them to their first steps in cello playing. I specialize in historically informed music, so I try to understand the context around each music I play, so we enter into a dialogue between current events and the era in which the music was created. In my classes we will learn the basic technique of the cello but also we will look together for what we want to express with the music we make, and techniques more adapted to the era.

If it is so important to master the position and technique of the debut, it is not just about creating muscle tension and contra-contraignant notes, but also about experiencing a fluid way of playing. All good news is good; I am not a sworn or sarcastic professor, I promise :)
Once you have reached a higher level, we will focus on musical expression, sound quality, and the available techniques.
This also applies to the importance of the development of the musical ear.
