I am a Masters graduate from the Royal College of Music in London and specialise in teaching a range of musical skills including: theory, composition and clarinet. With experience teaching all ages and abilities I aim to offer lessons tailored to you or your child that are clear, engaging and enjoyable! 😊

In COMPOSITION, I can give advice on a range of styles including:
- contemporary classical music, using Sibelius software
- electronic music production/Logic (any style)
- Music for Film (theory / orchestration and using samples etc)

In CLARINET we will focus on breathing and musicality as well as technical skill. I am also keen to encourage playing by ear and from memory as well as with printed music.

In MUSIC THEORY I aim to find simple, practical solutions to help students in their understanding as well as relating the theory to well-known examples in classical and modern music.

I love meeting new people with a passion for music, from absolute beginners to the more advanced. I'd love to hear from you if any of the above sounds up your street!

Extra information

For clarinet lessons, students will need to buy or rent their own instruments and will also be responsible for purchasing any music required.

For academic music lessons / GCSE / A-Level, students will need to bring their own text books.

Sophie is a graduate of the Royal College of Music where she studied composition with Jonathan Cole. Since graduating she has worked in theatre, film, and television as a composer/arranger, including roles at Shakespeare's Globe, RSC, The National Theatre, St James's Theatre, and Park Theatre.

Highlights include Romeo and Juliet at the RSC (dir. Erica Whyman); Remains of the Day - Out of Joint / Royal & Derngate (dir. Chris Haydon) Rosenbaum’s Rescue at the Park Theatre (dir. Kate Fahy); All You Need Is LSD - Birmingham Rep / Tour (dir. Paul Hunter & Stephen Harper); A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian and Mighty Atoms (dir. Mark Babych, Hull Truck); Bang Bang (dir. Sophie assisted Claire Van Kampen in her arrangements for the Olivier-nominated Farinelli and the King at both the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and the Duke of York's Theatre and she has also recently composed a section of score for the BFI / Shakespeare’s Globe collaborative film Play On.

I specialise in teaching music composition, production, and piano. I have a BA from the University of Oxford in Music, and I am a professional TV and Film composer. I am also able to teach music theory, history, and ear training.

My goal is to create lessons that help my students to get an interactive, un-intimidating, and fun filled musical education. I believe that this comes from learning not just one area of music, but by giving students the tools to be confident in any musical setting they choose. I teach all ages and levels of musical ability.

Ableton Live is the new standard for electronic music. Its very easy to learn and with only a couple of lessons you will be able to start making your own music! Used by almost all EDM, House, Deep House and even Pop artists it is the must-have tool in the new decade. In our classes we will go over making beats, basic music theory, song-writing techniques and production techniques including advanced sound design with synthesizers. If requested, we can also move on to mixing to make your tracks sound just like what you hear on the radio.

I specialize in Ableton Live and have released albums on multiple record labels. I hold a degree in Music Production and Sound Engineering from Point Blank Music School and I am currently the Music Content Manager at Vochlea Music and the lead Ableton tutorial writer for Attack Magazine. I also own my own recording and production studio in East London.

I’m an experienced guitarist and I can help those of all abilities and ages looking to learn the instrument or develops their skills. I’ve been playing for 16 years and I’m well versed in most genres and styles of music.

Open to all stages of learning whether you want to focus on fundamentals and guitar theory or develop your own style and technique.

I can support anyone looking to gain knowledge of harmony, chord melody, soloing, popular and unconventional song structure and style. Or if you want to learn other songs and build up your repertoire.

My musical background is primarily as a jazz guitarist, specialising in improvisation and composition. This is something I can work on with students once core skills are acquired.

I can also help get students get up to speed with their grade exams and offer musical theory support.

Aside from my
experience as a guitarist, I play in different bands as a Writer and composer. I have experience as a recording artist at Abbey Road studios and I can teach students about song writing and composition.

I’m fluent on music softwares such as Logic Pro X and Ableton and offer Music Production and Recording technique classes at my own studio in Clapton East London.

My name is Andrea, I have recently concluded my Artist's Master in keyboard instruments at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. My passion for music induced me to apply in the “Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria” in the course of Harpsichord as my principal study. After 10 years studying music and obtaining the diploma of “Grado de Enseñanzas Profesionales” in the conservatory, I developed a deep interest for Classical and Early music for keyboard instruments.

Discovering a historical and musical universe, I decided to continue my performing and theoretical investigation studying the bachelor course in keyboard instruments including piano, harpsichord and organ. I had the amazing opportunity to obtain a scholarship and study at the "Conservatorio Tartini di Trieste", in Italy. Working with exceptional teachers, i was able expand my linguistic abilities and cultural appreciation for the expressive diversity of Keyboard music. I have discovered the magnificent variety between many composers all around Europe and the distinct features and techniques they utilized to improvise and to embellish their pieces. During this artistic journey, i have had extraordinary performance experiences as a soloist including playing at the Parlament of Brussels and the National Gallery in Bosnia. Recently, living in London has inspired me to take part in a wide variety of exciting projects such as performing as a keyboard accompanist in Opera Scenes and with the Guildhall Baroque Orchestra in the Milton Court Concert Hall.
